The candidates and their sponsors process to the Bishop for the anointing with Chrism (or other appropriate rubric). The sponsor places a hand on the candidate’s shoulder. (Possible rubric about their confirmation name). The Bishop makes the sign of the cross with Chrism on the candidate’s forehead.
