Staging Your Home to Sell Last month we discussed what you can do to showcase the exterior of your home. This month, we will discuss those things you can do to make the interior look its absolute best. * Clean everything in and out of sight. Shampoo carpets and wax floors. Wash windows and clean blinds and draperies. * Take clutter out of closets and cupboards, make them look organized. * Create space by storing any extra furniture that can make your rooms look crowded. * Place your remaining furniture so that traffic flows easily from room to room. Remember LESS IS DEFINITELY MORE! * Keep shades and draperies open to admit as much light as possible. * Let your kitchen be warm and welcoming, not a hectic workplace. Keep your sink shining and free of dirty dishes at all times. * Keep counter tops clear, but not empty. Adorn with a few of your most attractive pieces. * Clean/degrease your oven so your kitchen smells fresh. * Remove dust, moths, etc. from all light fixtures. * Keep bathrooms scrubbed, tidy and equipped with neatly hung towels. * Light your whole home, especially any dark corners and hallways. All these suggestions will help your home look better than the competition. All it takes is some time and elbow grease! You will realize your home’s greatest return on investment. 2017 Color Trends

If color forecasters are to be believed, 2017

will be the year of greenery, deep purple (called

Shadow), and taupe (Poised Taupe, to be exact),

according to Pantone, Benjamin Moore, and

Sherwin Williams, respectively. Considering

each of these hues are nowhere near one another

on the color wheel, is it any surprise homeowners

are wondering how to incorporate them into their

designs?

Color tends are influenced by a number of

factors - from nature and the arts to the political

climate and economic environment. How does

this translate into home design? Homeowners are

seeking to create an ambiance in their spaces

using color and light.

Homeowners scour websites and home décor

magazines for ideas because they want their home

to be on trend or in style. When it comes to color,

homeowners opt for keeping their major fixed

surfaces in neutral tones and then accent with

fun pops of color, such as greens or jewel tones.

Color trends might come and go as the

calendars change, but the importance of color in

our lives, and creating harmony among colors

never goes out of style.
