Risk Assessment for shooting at Epping Forest

Potential Hazard: Precautions: Emergency Procedures:Weather can be a potential damage to equipment and props being used.

The weather of the day we’re shooting will continuously be checked; if rain is scheduled then another day for shooting will have to be arranged. Rain or Snow can damaged expensive equipment and the crew can potentially get hurt if they were too fall etc.

If any college equipment gets damaged, then the college will immediately be informed. If any of the crew is seriously injured, then the emergency services will be called or driven up to the hospital, which is close to the location.

As we will be using cars to shoot some of the music video, there could be potential danger with other cars.

Ensure that filming is done when the roads tend to be clear, so that could possible be earlier in the morning. No music will be playing inside the car to ensure that the driver/actress is paying full action to the roads and the actions that she needs to do for the filming. Any actors not involved in the car scene will stay clear from the roads.

If any accidently happen between the cars and the crew get injured, then I will contact both the college and emergency services for instant help.

Getting lost at the location. The overall location is very large meaning the crew may wonder off and lose the little section as to where we will be filming

I will ensure that all the crew stick together and do not wonder off. If for any reason the group needs to separate, makes sure that mobile phones are taken with them and that everyone has each others phone numbers.

If someone gets lost or separated from the rest of the group, then no one else will depart and find them. The group will remain together and the missing member will be contacted through their phones. If they do not respond then everyone must return to the meeting point. Filming will of course be stopped until the person is found – this may even mean contacting emergency services if they do not return.

Getting harmed from the public walking their dogs through the forest. Some people tend to let their dogs off of their lead and they can potential wonder over to the filming spot. Epping forest is a large area and a prime location for dog walking and so the crew must be warned to be careful.

If an animal such as a dog is loose, then the animal must be ignored, no one should be trying to interact with the animal. We will obviously have to prevent filming anything until the animal is away from the area in which we are located. The member of public who is in ownership of the loose animal will politely be asked to keep the animal with them rather than disturbing our shooting.

If in a rare case that one of the crew does get attacked or harassed by a dog then the entire group will have to walk away. None of the other crewmembers are to get involved in case they are also attacked as well. If the person is seriously injured then a short trip to the local hospital will be done.
