LOOKING TO ThE FUTURE...At Ride we have been making strides in the right direction and continue to implement processes to help reduce our impact on the environment. We have cut out waste by replacing the heavy, zippered board bags with a durable, fully recyclable shrink-wrap. This eliminates about 30,000 pounds of plastic waste annually. We have also eliminated fl uorocarbons from our wax and made the conversion to a 100% naturally derived biodegradable formula. Almost ev-ery Ride snowboard uses full swap die-cut bases, which cut out a signifi cant amount of waste that otherwise would go to landfi lls and do not require any inks or solvents like many standard bases. For boot packaging, we have re-placed plastic and paper foot forms with a recycled cardboard foot form, and replaced plastic bags on each boot with a paper separator, both of which are recyclable. Ride boots now feature 30% recycled EVA backing in the shell. All of Ride’s binding baseplates and heelcups are made from roughly 50% re-cycled aluminum, and much like your empty beer cans, are 100% consumer recyclable.

To further address how we can improve upon these measures throughout all aspects of our business, at the Ride offi ce we have implemented numerous processes such as electronically stored fi les, using paper that is made up of 30% post consumer material and employee commuter incentives to bike, car-pool and bus to work.

STRATA HD II™ is a technically innovative dual-layer, micro-porous laminate and coating that wicks away moisture. It remains waterproof and breathable, even after numerous washings, as the inner hydrophilic layer prevents condensation and allows moisture to travel to the outer layer, keeping you warm and dry. Strata HD II has a waterproof/breathable rating of 15K/10K and 20K/15K.

DWR (DURABLE WATER REPELLENCY) fabric protection is an invisible water-repellent finish applied to the outer shell of every garment. Rather than soaking into the fibers, water beads up on the surface area and rolls off. Without DWR, your jacket/pant would feel like a wet dishrag no matter how expensive it was.
