A riddle is a type of poem that works like a

puzzle.

What am I? I am an animal. You might see me on a safari. I’m covered in black and white stripes. I’m part of the horse family.

I am a Zebra!

What am I? I live in Africa! I am an animal. I have four legs. I like to use my long tongue to eat leaves from the top of trees. I am yellow and brown.

I am a Giraffe!

• Think of an African animal.

• Write 4-6 clues (sentences).

• Start with harder clues and try to include adjectives.

• Try to use different sentence starters.
