STEREOTYPES In this world that we are living now called Earth has over 7 billion people living in it , it’s place where we call home. Over 50% of the world populations uses stereotype in their normal biases. For this task of this journal we are to right an essay about stereotypes, persuasion and prejudice. For the advertisement I choose is mainly about stereotyping. The definition of stereotyping is a wide held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or this. In the photo or advertisement you can clearly see a very attractive good looking guy and the caption for the advert is “ Men never listen still, it’s nice to know they still can “ Here in this advertisement deliberately indicates that the man don’t listen. This advertisement show that the men don’t listen to their wives/girlfriend which is somehow true but the company can’t do gender stereotyping. This advertisement seems to dominate male, as female too don’t listen to men often. So, such kind of stereotyping can be also considered as stereotyping. This advertisement is showing that with these hearing aids men will be able to hear to their wives what they want to say but is does not mean that they will listen. This advertisement is also saying that the husband won’t have excuses that they didn’t hear what they said. So, putting up with the overall perceptive this gender stereotype focuses on the role of women is to listen and for men it’s not. So, it’s slogan “ Men never listen still it’s nice to know that they can “ sums it all up. In conclusion, the advertisement is an example of gender stereotyping.
