RICARDO

When they told me that Ricardo have pancreatic cancer with metastasis into liver. I could not believe. Ricardo is brother of the Sister's Husband, but as well he was my boss for 2 years, when we built 5 years ago 2 building in Las Condes.

 

Ricardo is 45 years old he get married with Marilu a Colombian woman, they have 3 children they are between 2-8 years old. Ricardo is a civil engineer he has a specialty in build about big height.

First that I remember when they said to me it was a dream I dreamed 2 years ago with Ricardo, in this dream I saw him very sick of the hear and he died for this reason, I weak distressed and my first instinct was call Ricardo. I tell and persuade him that he practice exams.

 

But I called to my sister, she said me you do not call, he will not listen he will think that you are crazy. I didn't do something; it was easier and more convenient. Now I think why we can't said what we think, feel, hope, want. It has been difficult for me. I know perhaps 2 years ago he was not sick, this is the more probable, and if was he sick?

I cannot forgive me, I never will know what would had happened, I only know what had happened. I can not change the past, but I can act differently so that the future, the past will be different.

 

Now Ricardo is undergoing medical treatment very aggressive with chemotherapy against the cancer, but his life expectancy is 10 % above 5 years.

As well I have profound impact on death of Randy Pausch, he died of the same cancer of Ricardo, I had seen his story it is unbelievable he was professional much thing, but his life after of the cancer is amazing. He was teacher of a course de virtual world for 10 years and paradoxically his last lesson was about real life.

In May 2008, Pausch was listed by Time as one of the World's Top-100 Most Influential People. His video has been seen for millions of person through YouTube.

I now hope that Ricardo has the power to confront it. I do not know if the life or the death, I think both are very difficult. I only hope that his body, brain and spirit do not suffer.
