Rhythm Composition
Goal:
You will be making your own rhythms using the notes and rests that we have talked about so far: Quarter, Half, Dotted Half, Whole, Eighth (Baker) and Sixteenth (Peanut Butter). You may also use the Telephone and Grasshopper rhythms.
Instructions:
1. This composition should be in 4/4 time. (Time Signature)2. Use the lines on the back of this paper to start creating your
rhythm. 3. Remember that a bar line should go every 4 beats.4. You should create your best 15 measures.5. When you have your 15 measures complete, find a partner.6. Have your partner clap or sing your rhythm and see if they do it
correctly, then switch. 7. If there is any disagreement on how something should sound, talk
it out with your partner.8. After clapping for each other, count off and play your
compositions at the same time. If you do it correctly, you should both end at the same time!
9. Remember you can always check your rhythm packets for help!
