Rhea~Mother of the Gods~
Rhea is known as many things like the god of the
moon, the earth, and soil, but she is mainly known as the mother of the
gods.
Rhea’s mother and father were
Gaia and Uranus, Rhea married her brother
Cronus, and they ruled the Titans
on Olympus.
Rhea’s usually seen as a matronly woman, with a
crown, and usually is between her two
lions, or being pulled in a chariot
by them.
Rhea was an Earth Goddess, she was in charge of the fertility of soil, and women. She took over most
of these responsibilities from
her mother Gaia.
Rhea and Cronus had 6
children, Demeter, Hera,
Hestia, Poseidon, Hades and
Zeus.
Rhea was mad at Cronus, and she helped Zeus dethrone him.
After Cronus was killed, Rhea
became less important on
Olympus.
Rhea only appears in few other myths, and when she does, it’s usually to resolve a
fight between two gods, by choosing who she likes better.
Rhea uses her powers for
many things.
I’m glad I chose Rhea, I think it would be cool to have her
powers.
