I create my patterns by hand, picturing my end product and carefully drawing out each piece
with a trusty pencil and eraser. The eraser gets plenty of use. Please review my copyright
statement at the end of this tutorial. I have put a lot of hard work in to developing my
patterns and putting them in a tutorial form and I greatly appreciate your honesty and respect
of my copyright.
Please read the tutorial in its entirety before beginning this project. I stand behind all of my
products and encourage you to contact me if you should have any questions along the way.
My contact information can be found at the end of this tutorial.
This pattern/tutorial is a supplementto the Basic Stick Horse and Pony Pattern.

8. Pin and sew around the base of the horn, with about a 1/16-1/8 inch seam allowance, attaching the
horn to the head gusset. (I sew around twice for durability)
9. Sew the horse/unicorn as instructed on the Basic Stick Horse Pattern/Tutorial. For the mane, I use a
12 mane, making sections of tied 12 inch yarn (wrapped around a 24 inch object, tied in the middle at
the 12 mark) and sew them in as described in the tutorial for sewing in sections of yarn rather than a
full wrapped loom of yarn.
Tip: For the mane, I often like to mix the colors. Normally I add two chunks of a contrasting or coordinating
color highlight. Of course you may also use one solid color or sprinkle a mix of colors throughout the
entire mane and forelock. Dont hold back your creativityhave fun with it!
10.Stuff the horn first, using a very small amount of fiber fill until the tip of the horn is firmly stuffed, then
increasing the amounts of fiber fill and stuffing the horn firmly. Then stuff the rest of the
horse/unicorn and add any stuffing to the horn that may have slipped during the stuffing process.

11.Prior to perking the ears and trimming the mane, trim the horn with the rat tail trim. Wrap the horn in
the rat tail trim. Start at the seam on the back of the horn at the base of the horn and using hot glue
sparingly, wrap around the base of the horn twice. Once you have wrapped around the base twice and
are back at the seam on the horn, begin wrapping the trim in a snug upward spiral. End at the tip of
the horn on the seam and sparingly hot glue.
12.Using super glue, sparingly apply a dot of super glue under the trim on the seam of each spiral. Finish
as directed in the Basic Stick Horse Pattern/Tutorial. Embellish as desired and youre done!
