TECHNOLOGY TO INCREASE SALES

The retail sector is in constant development and, as with the rest of the

sectors, technology plays a more and more important role. Thereby HMY

introduces the RFID systems to improve the shopping experience and the

management of goods inside the shop, a solution that will increase the

sales in your business.

In partnership with Keonn Technologies, we have developed a package for

retail solutions so as to achieve an appropriate organisation and manage-

ment of the displayed products in a retail commercial space.

Through the HMY RFID systems, the retailer has several opportunities:

• Reducing obstacles and inconveniences in the shopping process: Queues

at desks, stockouts, well designed establishments, lack of information on

the items...

• Advise to increase sales: A website and on-line purchases increase

sales between 5 and 15% for the shop.

HMY suggests the application of this recommendation techniques

and systems in the conventional shop.

• Improvement of the management of the goods: Identification of the products

by means of stock control in the stockroom and in the sales area..

What is RFID? RFID technology (Radio Frequency IDentification) allows

distance identification of items by means of electronic tags that can be read

by electromagnetic waves.

Electronically tagged items are identified by readers and aerials, retrieving the

information to offer an inventory in a quick and automatic way.

RFID SYSTEMS, A SET OF SOLUTIONS FOR THE ORGANISATION AND MANAGEMENT OF PRODUCTS

Before incorporating RFID Technology, the most appropriate devices for the functions to be implemented in

the shop must be defined. Those devices will be according to the expectations of the customers.

The elements retrieve information from the tags, guaranteeing therefore the management of the product

to obtain benefit for both the retailer and the brands.

With additional devices, the customers are offered information about the product in order to improve

the shopping experience and boost cross-selling.

HMY EXCLUSIVITY: Metallic shelving system, completely intelligent

HMY makes the RFID a reality available and affordable. We integrate the system in standard metallic

furniture with an exclusive technology in the market (HMY registered product).

• Modular system: It can be adapted to every kind or shop format.

• Wiring: The installation is simplified in the shop and offers maximum safety.

• A most appealing price.

• Software: It offers the retailer the most detailed information.

• Polarization: High coverage service, preventing retrieval errors.

• Reliability: It detects the products depending on their orientation.

09

10

Advantages:• Reduction of stockouts and out-of-place elements

• Quick location of products

• Interaction with customers

• Quick collection of products

• Sale estimation for each stand

AdvanShelf is based on RFID UHF, which provides a real-time inventory with a high-reading rate and a

high performance with regard to location.

It allows obtaining in an easier way the location of tagged items with a definition of +/-40cm (+/-15inches).

It can detect out-of-place elements, locate any item, obtain a real-time planogram...

It is adaptable to any kind of material: metal, plastic and wood. Up to 1024 aerials can be connected to

just one reader.

RF hardware is easily installed. The readers are connected to the server, the system is tested and the

controls of the specifically developed software are installed.

AdvanTrack produces a real-time inventory that contains every tagged items of the specific commercial area.

Aerials are provided with RFID multiplexers and readers that are positioned approximately every 1.5m.

Each aerial has a reading range of roughly 3m in diameter, retrieving information on the location and

identification of every tagged item every few seconds.

AdvanTrack obtains a real-time inventory with the exact location of the items, thereby reducing stockouts.

It also detects items that are not in their correct location and reduces the risk of theft.

AdvanMat is a mat that contains four high-efficient RFID UHF aerials for the monitoring of people

and the objects that they carry. The system can hold the weight of up to 3-4 people for the aerials to

function properly.

Circular polarisation aerials have a radiation pattern with a beam width of 40º in one direction and a

beam width of 90º in the perpendicular direction (beam shape screen).

Mats’ material and colour can be chosen (consult available models).

AdvanMat can have a surface made of fabric if required. Mats without this surface can be situated

under a conventional mat.

THE INCREASE IN SALES GENERATED BY THE INTERACTIVE SYSTEMS COMPENSATES

THE INVESTMENT OF THE RETAILER IN ONE YEAR

This example offers information about a 100m2 shop, to illustrate the benefits produced by RFID systems. Data

shown in the diagram above contain installation and maintenance costs offered by HMY.

Once the estimate has been signed, the installation of the RFID entire system in the shop takes 6-8 weeks,

depending on the required features regarding specific software development that the client requires.

Final assimilation with the client’s ERP, if required, will take a period that will be determined by the dimension

of the project.
