Take advantage of the peninsula rate, and enjoy these magical properties. Book now with You & Me Travel Agency, and we will give you 10 tips you need to know, before visiting Las Haciendas Luxury Collection.

A real gem is how we could describe this beautiful hacienda, completely restored. It has 28 rooms exquisitely decorated with local wood furnishings, and typical ornaments . It has been hosted renowned visitors, such as former presidents George Bush, Bill Clinton and Felipe Calderon, among other celebrities. We were extraordinarily atended by Patricia, Mary and other hotel employees, who live in the village of Temozon, and have been trained to offer premium guest’s service. The Hacienda is nestled in a great natural setting, it is possible to walk around in a fun truck ride, ending in a crystal clear cenote . We ate the best salmon I’ve ever tried in recent years, not only for its excellent flavor , but for perfection in the doneness. We could also enjoy other delicacies of the menu, designed by our friend the Chef Cristian Bravo, as aguachile shrimp and beef carpaccio. And to relax and rekindle the romance with your partner, nothing like lounging in the stunning pool, or take a bath in the private open sky room pool.

This property will take the breath away, from the most demanding traveler. It is located 30 minutes from the city of Campeche, and is the most intimate of Las Haciendas. It has only 12 rooms and 2 suites, all furnished with excellent taste. Additional to the spa, the pool and the restaurant, the property has a large ceiba tree, that has its own personality with its imposing size and beauty. We tasted some delicious coconut shrimp, and a delicious fish fillet in chili xcatic sauce. Each room has a relaxation area outside the room, ideal for sharing with friends and relax. It has a rustic chapel, located in the ruins of the hull of the estate, thats why the hacienda has become a recurring scene of matrimonial alliances. I recommend to book a private romantic dinner, in an intimate table, overlooking the large ceiba tree.

We had the fantastic opportunity to visit two of the most amazing haciendas, Temozón in Yucatan, and Uayamon in the neighboring state of Campeche. These two properties are part of the Luxury Collection Group, with Hacienda Santa Rosa, and Hacienda Puerta Campeche added, all under the prestige stamp of Starwood Hotels and Resorts.

It stands out for the Puuc architectural style, which characterized certain periods of Mayan history. Different structures can be found in Uxmal: the Nunnery with trapezoidal figures, the Governor’s Palace, the Ball Game, and the pyramid of the Magician, whose height is 35 meters. There are dozens of legends, that speak of this beautiful Mayan city. As well as Chichen Itza, in the evenings, Uxmal offers its visitors a spectacle of light and sound.

The most important structure of this area, is the “Temple of the Seven Dolls”, named for the figurines which were found inside, during the 1950s. Hundreds of people gather each year in this place, during the spring and autumn to watch equinoxes where the sun offers a natural show passing exactly through a window of the temple. Dzibilchaltun also has a cenote, where it is possible to swim.

Tulum is the most important archaeological site in Quintana Roo, and one of the most visited for its beauty and uniqueness. The main building is El Castillo, one of the oldest buildings in this city, which functioned as a lighthouse for Mayan navigators. Also noteworthy is the Temple of the Frescoes, beautifully decorated with blue and gray tones. Since 1981, Tulum were declared. National Park.

Protected by two walls, to enter the area, it is necessary to pass through a false bow. The Acropolis is one of the most important structures, and we can also find the Temple of the Jaguar, a beautiful facade carved in stone, in which we can observe different figures like winged warriors. The Oval Temple and the Ball Game, also stand imposing and receiving visitors in the same way that it did, thousands years ago.

Chichen Itza is the most important archaeological site in the Yucatan peninsula. The pyramid of Kukulcan was named one of the 7 Wonders of the New World in 2007. The spectacle of light and shadow, “The descent of Kukulkan”, can be seen during the equinoxes. The Ball Game, the sacred Cenote, and the Observatory, are other major structures in this area, as well as the Temple of a Thousand Columns and the Chac Mool.

Located just 4 km from Tulum, this cenote is one of the most beautiful in the region. His huge caverns with stalactites and stalagmites, added to the beauty of the large amount of natural light, make this cenote a favorite for tourists and locals. It is ideal for those who like diving, because its shallow, clear waters, allows even the most inexperienced swimmer to enjoy its waters.

Both the beauty of the cenotes, such as how to reach them, make Cuzama an obligated excursion for all those who wish to live an unforgettable experience. The Sotuta Peon Hacienda offers its visitors, the experience of a luxury hotel, with the mysticism and allure of a land steeped in history and tradition. The hacienda has comfortable facilities, tastefully decorated rooms, quaint cottages and a superb restaurant. However, the main attraction is shaped by its historical reenactment of the henequen processing, truck rides and the unique beauty of Dzul-Ha cenote.

Surrounded by lush gardens and cobbled paths, the property is a corner of romance, history and relaxation. Misne transports us to an oasis of peace. Its architecture brings together colonial elements, both Spanish and French, giving the hacienda an air of distinction. Misne Hacienda is the ideal location for celebrations, leisure or business retreats, family vacations and of course, spectacular weddings.

This unique hacienda is located in the town of South Temozón. Headquarters offices of the state executive, this beautiful building has witnessed important historical and political events. The building, an eclectic classical style, is relatively recent. The original building, corresponding to the “Royal Houses” was demolished in 1883. Nine years later, in the celebrations of September 15 took place the opening of the new exhibition. Inside, the history of the Peninsula comes alive, thanks to the murals and portraits painted by Fernando Castro Pacheco.

In 1561, Pope Pius IV authorized the construction of this landmark building. After 37 years, the Cathedral of San Ildefonso rose majestic, wearing a facade of renaissance court. Originally had five chapels, of which only three survive. On the main altar is sheltered the “Christ of the Unit”. Another outstanding image, is “Santa Eulalia” a gift from the Spanish Merida.

At the third roundabout of Paseo de Montejo, is the monument to México, also known as Flag Memorial, a work that immortalized the Colombian sculptor Romulo Rozo. Shaped hemicycle, this monument is a tribute to the nation. Its sculpted surface, full of symbolism, tells the story of Yucatan and Mexico. Stands the figure of the center: a sculpture of 14 meters, with a mestizo face. Its inauguration was held on April 23, 1956, in the presence of then President Adolfo Ruiz Cortines.

This old building was built in 1771, as the seat of the Colegio de San Pedro of the Society of Jesus. In 1864, it was remodeled to accommodate the imperial commissary. Three years later, it was occupied by the State Literary Institute. Subsequently housed the Professional Schools and the State in 1922, Felipe Carrillo Puerto, gave place to the National Southeast University, it then became the Autonomous University of Yucatán.

The history of this important theater, dates back to 1806, when the construction of the Teatro San Carlos begans. In 1877, the building was acquired by a new owner, who remodeled and renamed Theatre Bolio. In December 27 of 1878, the theater is reopened under the name of Jose Peon Contreras. In a classic style, this theater hosts major art events in the city. It has a spacious lounge vestibular, which features a monumental marble staircase, leading to the auditorium and the upper foyer.

With the comfort of an excellent urban transport, Turibus hits from 11 years ago, a tour of some of the main streets and avenues in Mérida. Users can select the mode that suits them, including a continuous journey or one with scales. The line has two routes: Cathedral and Barrios. The Turibus, a trademark of Grupo ADO, is also present in cities like Puebla, Veracruz and Mexico City, where he began this mode of tourist transport in 2002.

Every Saturday, the Mexican Night turns into a showcase of cultural diversity, both proud to Mexico and its people. This celebration takes place in the Auction of Paseo Montejo, site where meridians and (domestic and foreign) tourists gather starting at 8 pm, to enjoy colorful folk performances and talented exponents of music. Also, the Mexican Night has many craft stalls, and a food court, where you can enjoy delicious snacks.

The carriages or calenders, formerly used as a regular transportation, are today one of the most romantic and picturesque attractions in Merida. Accompanied by a soft beat, produced by the footsteps of the horse, and the noise of the wheels, tourists enjoy a relaxing stroll. The tour begins at the Plaza Grande, goes from the 60th Street to Santa Ana park and bends Paseo de Montejo. The calender continues along this avenue, until the Flag Memorial. Then return to the starting point.

Created in August 2006, the Biciruta is a project of family entertainment that promotes physical activation. The Biciruta also favors the encounter with the culture and arts, through various performances and workshops. Every Sunday from 8 to 12 am, vehicular traffic is suspended in a linear path that goes from Paseo de Montejo, to the Hermitage of Santa Isabel Church. In February this year, a new circuit was inaugurated. It starts at the entrance of the zoo Animaya and concludes on 75th street Caucel Town.

The beautiful Park of Santa Lucia, is the ideal scene for one of the traditions of major pride for Merida and his inhabitants. We speak, certainly, about the Yucatecan Serenade. Every Thursday, at 9 p.m., the best exponents of the traditional Yucatecan music, accompanied of the renowned Typical Orchestra Yucalpeten, delight the public with notes loaded with poetry and love-feeling. With more than 40 years, the Yucatecan Serenade is a reflection of the wealth and brilliance of the trova and Yucatecan folklore.
