1 Company bio Amber Heart Productions founder, Kristine Greenaway, is a playwright whose earlier work includes site-specific plays that have been staged at châteaux in Switzerland and France. Motherland, set in a dark, damp urban apartment, marks a decided departure from those fairy-tale settings! The Motherland cast features four talented actors. • Erik Mrakovcic (Davit), a graduate of the National Theatre School, won the Maxim Mazumdar Legacy award for performing in the Stephenville Theatre Festival where he played in a folk opera The Nobleman's Wedding directed by Lois Brown and appeared in a play for young audiences Jack Meets the Cat directed by Sarah Tilley. His acting credits include: The Father in Wajdi Mouawad’s Tideline and Shattered man in Dreams, both directed by Ken Gass. • Susan Q Wilson (Ana) returned to the thespian world in 2010. During the past eight years, she has appeared in 23 stage productions, 22 short films, a feature film, and an award-winning web series. In December 2016, Susan won the Best Lead Female award from International Online Web Fest (based in London, UK) for her role as Beatrice in A Cloud to Walk On, directed by Adam Pedersen; the film itself won IOWF’s Best Short Film award. At U of T in the 1960s, she played at Hart House Theatre under the direction of the legendary Robert Gill. Her acting credits include: Alice Sycamore, You Can’t Take It With You, Ryerson University; and Julius Caesar, Caesar, Wolf Manor Theatre Collective. She is a co-founder of the film production company Spinning Top Pictures. • Jeffrey Kennes (Arman) is an actor and director, as well as the founder of the SMC Troubadours, a theatre company at the University of Toronto. His acting credits include: Miles Glorious in A Funny Thing Happened on the way to the Forum (2017), Herr Schultz in Cabaret (2016), Shigalov in The Possessed (2015), and Ferdinand in The Tempest (2009).
