Previous Results

• While there was a decrease in the number of referrals from 2009-2010 to 2010-2011 (166 to 136), the number of suspensions increased from 103 to 187. The number of expulsions also increased from 5 expulsions in 2009-2010 to 11 expulsions in 2010-2011. Three of the 11 expulsions in 2010-2011 were the result of the same set of students noncompliance to school rules that warranted them being expelled for the remainder of the year. Other expulsions involved students making threats to staff and harming or participating in potentially dangerous acts.

• The majority of the suspensions for 2009-2010 were from Level 2 to Level 3 infractions, and ranged from 1 to 5 days. This is similar to the previous years’ infractions where the majority of suspensions from Level 1 to Level 3 infractions.

Monitoring Process• Being a data driven school, the PBIS team interprets data from SMS (office referrals,

# of suspensions), report cards, attendance records, and S-team referrals and correlates this information with our goals and action plan. The team will continuously revisit and revise the sw plan if it is determined that the data and teacher input reveals a need for more vigorous measures.

• The team will utilize the PBIS website and disaggregate student data. We will enlist the support from the Behavior Specialist in obtaining this data, also. This information will enable the team to inform teachers of students who demonstrate continuous, negative behaviors who can then be referred to the counselor.

• The administration is informed of students with repetitive, negative behaviors and informed of intervention strategies that will be implemented.

• Each classroom has a “FOX REPORT” chart posted at the door which indicates the percentage of students present and on time for that school day. Those classrooms that have 100% attendance for the week are recognized at the end of the week over the intercom and given an attendance certificate for display.
