1. Configuring Recent Reviews Block The extension consists of two parts:

Reviews Reminder and Recent Reviews

Block. To configure the review block

please go to admin area > System >

Configuration > Catalog > Reviews

Sidebar Pro.

With the help of “Show Random” setting

you can display either most recent or

random reviews. Please note that the

block label remains “RECENT REVIEWS”

both when displaying random and recent

reviews. If you would like to modify the

block label, please feel free to do so with

the help of “Translate inline” Magento

feature.

If you set “Reviews in block” option to

zero, the block will not be displayed.

You can also configure the block to

display product ratings, display reviews

for products from the currently viewed

category, display reviews for the currently

viewed product, hide already viewed

reviews, etc.

For the ratings with associated votes

(stars) to be displayed correctly in the

Recent Reviews block, please make sure

the necessary ratings are assigned to

store view(s).


The Word Count

setting allows to cut

the review text in

the Reviews Block. If

set to zero, the

system displays full

review text. If you

want to cut it to a

certain number of

words, please enter

a value in the field.

The Display Only

Summary Rating setting

allows you to choose

which rating you would

like to display, the rating

of each review or

summary rating of all

reviews.

By default the block is displayed in the right navigation column and displays product images. If you

would like to place the block on some static pages and not to display product images, please follow

the following instructions.

- To add the block to any static page please use the following code:

- To disable images in the reviews block please do the following:

1. Open the app\design\frontend\default\default\layout\adjreminder.xml file

2. Find the following line in it (line #9):

template="adjreminder/review.phtml">

3. And replace it with the following:

template="adjreminder/review_no_images.phtml">

4. Refresh magento cache (System > Cache Management)

You can configure review reminders part of the extension at the same page (admin area > System > Configuration > Catalog > Review

Reminders).

3. Configuring Review Reminders


You can choose which status(-

es) should an Order get to have

a reminder generated. If chosen

more than one, then the

reminder’s generating will be

ruled according to the “Take all

chosen order statuses to create

reminder” setting

You can set whether

email should be sent

automatically (will work

only if cron is enabled).

You can set delay

period, after which the

alerts should be sent.

The setting configures

whether reminders should

be sent only for new

products that a customer

buys (to avoid situations

when a customer receives

multiple requests to

review the same product).

Choose which email

template should be

used.

Choose sender’s

email.

You can set the Module to send

reminders to customers, who

have subscribed to receive

newsletter from your magento.

Unsubscribed users can be

sent reminders only manually.

In case you chose more than one

Order status in the setting “Choose

status”, here you can set, whether to

create a reminder the Order has to

pass all the chosen statuses (Yes

option) or just any of the chosen

statuses (No option).

To review (and edit, if needed) the email template please

do the following:

1) Go to System > Transactional Emails

2) Click “Add New Template” button

3) In the “Template” dropdown choose “Review

Reminder” template (most likely at the bottom of the list)

4) Click “Load Template” button.

5) Enter “Template Name”

6) if needed, edit the template subject and content.

7) Click “Save Template” button.

If you wish to assign a different template for some of your store-views, then you need to do the

following:

1. Create a new reminder template, the same way as described in the previous section 4.

2. Navigate to the Extension’s setting page (System->Configuration->Catalog->Review Reminders).

3. In the E-mail Template drop-down field you will see the new template now.

4. You need to choose the required store-view in the Current Configuration Scope drop-down.

5. Then choose the necessary template in the E-mail Template drop-down and Save the configuration

change.

6. When Review Reminders are Created


Review Reminders are created

automatically at the moment when

orders reach “Complete” status

To manually create send a review reminder, please do the following:

- go to Newsletter > Review Reminders > Pending Reminders page;

- click “Add Reminder” button;

- fill in the below form:

If you click “Save” button, the reminder will

be sent on the date you indicate. If you

click “Save and Send Out”, the reminder

will be sent immediately.

At the Pending Reminders page (Newsletter > Review Reminders > Pending Reminders) you can see the list

of reminders to be sent with dates when the order was completed (an order becomes completed when

invoice has been issued and shipment has been processed) and when the reminder will be sent. You can

add your own text to any of the reminders and send it immediately (or change the dispatch date) by going to

the reminder details page.

8. Pending Reminders page


If you would like to manually send several reminders at

once, please check the needed reminders, choose “Send

and Delete” option in the Actions dropdown and click

“Submit” button. The reminder(s) will be sent out, deleted

from the queue and saved to the History.

If you want to create reminders for orders that were completed before

the Module installation, then you need to click the Generate

Reminders button. An additional panel will unfold. Please refer to the

next page.



The new panel will open, where you will be able to view the progress

and remaining time. You can pause the process and resume it at any

time. Also you can close your browser, the generating will be executed

by your cron job on the server side.

You can choose a date, which you would like

the generating to start from. Leave blank to

process all Orders.



If you have “Send E-mails to subscribed customers only” set to Yes,

then after automatic sending the Module will check all e-mails,

whether they are in the subscribers list. If some e-mails are not,

then you will see the following message. This means some

reminders were not sent and you can click the link to send them

manually.

You can see the reminders, which were not sent due to the fact that

their e-mails are not in the list of subscribed customers. Choose

status “Not Sent (Unsubscribed)”.

At the History page (Newsletter > Review Reminders > History) you

can see the list of sent reminders (you can also delete them when

necessary). You can see if the customers, to whom reminders were

sent, used the reminder link to visit your website and when, also you

can see from what IP they visited your website.
