The Spanish future tense is formed with only one set of endings for the -ar, -er, and -ir verbs. For regular verbs, the endings are attached to the infinitive, as follows:
é
Again, the infinitive is the basis for all forms of regular verbs. Don’t drop the endings!
Notice that all forms except nosotros/as carry a written accent.

What are other ways to talk about the future in Spanish?
![Page 15: Review: Future Tense & Future Probability Las nuevas microcomputadoras serán aún más pequeñas.](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062410/5665b47e1a28abb57c91f931/html5/thumbnails/15.jpg)
The future may also be conveyed with the present tense of ir + a + infinitive (like in English, “going to” + verb).
Voy a arreglar la computadora.
I am going to fix the computer.
¿Vas a archivar ese documento?
Are you going to save that document?
![Page 16: Review: Future Tense & Future Probability Las nuevas microcomputadoras serán aún más pequeñas.](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062410/5665b47e1a28abb57c91f931/html5/thumbnails/16.jpg)
Near FutureRemember that the present tense is often used to express immediate future in Spanish (near future events only).
El técnico viene para arreglar mi computadora hoy.
The technician will come (is coming) to fix my computer today.
![Page 17: Review: Future Tense & Future Probability Las nuevas microcomputadoras serán aún más pequeñas.](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062410/5665b47e1a28abb57c91f931/html5/thumbnails/17.jpg)
Pregunta:
In Spanish, is the future tense used to express willingness?
(i.e. “Will you clean your room?)
![Page 18: Review: Future Tense & Future Probability Las nuevas microcomputadoras serán aún más pequeñas.](https://reader036.fdocuments.us/reader036/viewer/2022062410/5665b47e1a28abb57c91f931/html5/thumbnails/18.jpg)
The idea of willingness, sometimes expressed with the English future, cannot be expressed with the Spanish future tense. Use verbs like querer or the simple present tense to express willingness.
