• WWI - 4 years, 3 months and 2 weeks

• WWII - 6 years and 1 day

• Viet Nam - 19 years, 5 month, 4 weeks and 1 day

• War on Terror - Oct. 7, 2001 –so far: 15 years and 3 months with no end in sight.• (really 1980's - 36 years)

God’s wrath is literal, but the description of how the judgment is to be executed is figurative. We can debate what John had in mind when he spoke of hail and fire and rivers of blood, but we can hardly debate the meaning of God’s judgment.
