A Detailed Study of Past, Current, and Future Events as Revealed by God’s Word – Chapters 14-15-16

Colossians 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Theologians have interpreted the bible according to their reason and common sense. Tradition has changed the meaning of

scriptures to agree with experience. It is only through “a word of knowledge and a word of wisdom” from God that will enable one to understand the true meaning of the written word in Scripture.

Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep

the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. 13 And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which

die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, the Spirit says, that they may rest from their labors; and their works do follow them.

14 And I looked, and behold a white cloud, and upon the cloud one sat like unto the Son of man, having on his head a golden crown, and in his hand a sharp sickle.

15 And another angel came out of the temple, crying with a loud voice to him that sat on the cloud, Thrust in thy sickle, and reap: for the time is come

for you to reap; for the harvest of the earth is ripe. 16 And he that sat on the cloud thrust in his sickle on the earth;

and the earth was reaped. 17 And another angel came out of the temple which is in heaven,

he also having a sharp sickle. 18 And another angel came out from the altar, which had power over fire; and

cried with a loud cry to him that had the sharp sickle, saying, Thrust in thy sharp sickle, and gather the clusters of the vine of the earth;

for her grapes are fully ripe. 19 And the angel thrust in his sickle into the earth, and gathered the vine of the

earth, and cast it into the great winepress of the wrath of God. 20 And the winepress was trodden without the city, and blood came out of the

winepress, even unto the horse bridles, by the space of a thousand and six hundred furlongs.

In heaven God sends angels as messengers to announce that the time has come for Jesus to go back to earth and claim his kingdom of righteousness. It is time to thrust the “sickle” of judgment into the earth and to gather the grapes to be put into the winepress of God’s millstones of judgments.

Luke 20:17-18 17 The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner?

18 Whosoever shall fall upon that stone shall be broken; but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.

Chapters 8, 9 {The view from heaven} and Chapter 15 {The view from earth} will be studied side by side for continuity and a full description of the events that are to unfold during the 70th week of Daniel when God will judge Satan’s kingdom on earth.

The Seven Angels of Doom

View From Heaven Revelation 8:2-6

2 And I saw the seven angels which stood before God; and to them were given seven trumpets.

3 And another angel came and stood at the altar, having a golden censer; and there was given unto him much incense, that he should offer it with the prayers

of all saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne. 4 And the smoke of the incense, which came with the prayers of the saints,

ascended up before God out of the angel's hand. 5 And the angel took the censer, and filled it with fire of the altar, and cast it into

the earth: and there were voices, and thunderings, and lightnings, and an earthquake.

6 And the seven angels which had the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound.

View From earth Revelation 15:1-8

1 And I saw another sign in heaven, great and marvelous, seven angels having the seven last plagues; for in them is filled up the wrath of God.

2 And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the

number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God. 3 And they sing the song of Moses the servant of God, and the song of the Lamb,

saying, Great and marvelous are your works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are your ways, King of saints.

4 Who shall not fear thee, O Lord, and glorify thy name? for thou only art holy: for all nations shall come and worship before thee;for thy judgments are made manifest.

5 And after that I looked, and, behold, the temple of the tabernacle of the testimony in heaven was opened:

6 And the seven angels came out of the temple, having the seven plagues, clothed in pure and white linen, and having their breasts girded with golden girdles.

7 And one of the four beasts gave unto the seven angels seven golden vials full of the wrath of God, who lives for ever and ever.

8 And the temple was filled with smoke from the glory of God, and from his power; and no man was able to enter into the temple, till the seven

Plagues of the seven angels were fulfilled.

1. [Seven Angels…] They are commissioned to “trumpet” or announce God’s judgment upon the ungodly on the earth. They are to implement the supernatural announcement using seven golden vials filled with the wrath of God to be poured out as plagues upon the earth after the rapture of the Saints has occurred.

2. [Sea of glass mingled with fire…] Sea of Glass means "a glassy sea like unto crystal” which portrays the fixed purity and holiness of all that pertains to the authority and judicial dealings of God "mingled with the fire of God’s judgment". It is to be implemented in two seasons…the first with four plagues and the last with three “woes”.

On this glassy sea stand the tribulation saints who got the victory over the Antichrist {beast}, were beheaded, and now rise up {incense of prayers} into heaven {harps of God} to sing the song of Moses, and of the Lamb.

The First Angel Revelation 8:7

The first angel sounded, and there followed hail and fire mingled with blood, and they were cast upon the earth: and the third part of trees

was burnt up, and all green grass was burnt up.

Revelation 16:2 And the first went, and poured out his vial upon the earth; and there fell a

noisome and grievous sore upon the men which had the mark of the beast, and upon them which worshipped his image.

1. [Hail and fire mingled with blood…] Like the ninth plague upon Egypt when "The Lord sent thunder and hail-and fire {lightning} and it ran along upon the ground." [Exodus]. This is a shower of rain reflecting a red hue…an occurrence which is known sometimes to take place. It is a driving hail-storm with lightning intermingled with a reddish substance that resembles blood. Such events were viewed with terror by the ancients, because to them it portended that blood was to be shed.

Red snow is not very uncommon. This species of snow was found by Captain Ross at Baffin's Bay on the 17th of August, 1819. The mountains that were dyed with the snow were about 8 miles long and 600 feet high. The red color reached to the ground in many places 10 or 12 feet deep.

2. [And the third part of trees was burnt up, and all grass was burnt up…] Fire refers to God’s judgment that will consume a third part of the “trees” and “grass”. The trees are symbols for the leaders of the nation, and the grass is a symbol for the common people of the nation.

3. [And there fell a noisome and grievous sore…] A noisome and grievous sore” comes from the Greek word, “helkos” which means a sore, ulcer, or boil of a severe and painful character again in the same manner that was sent upon the Egyptians.

The Second Angel Revelation 8:8-9

8 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part

of the sea became blood; 9 And the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life,

died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed.

Revelation 16:3 And the second angel poured out his vial upon the sea; and it became as the

blood of a dead man: and every living soul died in the sea.

1. [And as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea…] A mountain is a natural symbol of strength, and hence is a symbol of a strong, powerful kingdom, and a seat of power.

Zechariah 4:7 KJV 4 Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a

plain: and he shall bring forth the headstone thereof with shoutings, crying, Grace, grace unto it.

Jeremiah 51:25 KJV 25 Behold, I am against you, O destroying mountain, said the LORD,

which destroys all the earth:

This is a “kingdom” and not a “nation”. It is to be consumed in some fiery, impetuous, destructive power. It will be a kingdom “as it were”, burning with the desire of conquest, and fiery in its assaults, consuming all in its way. Seas and collections of waters mean peoples, kindreds, and nations.

Revelation 17:15 KJV And he said unto me, The waters which you saw, where the whore sits,

are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues.

This is to be a great seat of power in the world that will be overthrown. It is a kingdom of power mad leaders trying to consume the whole world within an organization that is not supported by the common mass of people…like the United Nations!

2. [And the third part…] Use of the definite article “the” indicates that it is speaking of spheres or groupings and not numbers. God will cast this kingdom down along with the peoples of “this third” part. The entire world is comprised of three areas or spheres of influence

Magog – Europe, Africa, Middle East {Eurasia in 1984}

The Kings of the East – China, India, the Pacific Rim {Eastasia in 1984}

The Islands – Americas, British Commonwealth, Pacific and Atlantic Ocean Islands {Oceania in 1984}

Revelation 16 {view from earth} states that every living soul died and Revelation 8 {view from heaven} states which part of the world they were living-”the third part” which will eventually become Magog or Satan’s Kingdom on earth. It will be the Antichrist as “Big Brother” {the second beast that arises out of the earth} who will bring order and structure to “the third part”

3. [The sea became blood…blood of a dead man] The sea – the peoples of this third part – became as the blood of a dead man. Since “man” is in italics, the King James translators inserted this word in order to clarify

its meaning that the peoples in this third part become as dead men, that is, there will be no life {blood} in them from the Greek “nekros” which means spiritually dead and destitute of spiritual life

4. [In the sea, and had life, died (Revelation 8)…every living soul died in the sea (Revelation 16}] A moral death - to be deprived of real life or the power of doing that which is right and cut off from all connection with God

5. [The third part of the ships were destroyed…] The people in “the third part” which were once alive become as dead men spiritually for their souls will be destroyed by sin due to the deception of the Antichrist working under the power of Satan as an “angel of light” to corrupt them.

The Third Angel This third angel is a continuing description of the corruption caused by the rise of the Antichrist as the overseer of Satan’s Kingdom.

Revelation 8:10-11 10 And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven,

burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters;

11 And the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters,

because they were made bitter.

Revelation 16:4-6 4 And the third angel poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of

waters; and they became blood. 5 And I heard the angel of the waters say, you art righteous, O Lord, which are,

and was, and shall be, because you have judged thus. 6 For they have shed the blood of saints and prophets, and thou hast given

them blood to drink; for they are worthy. 7 And I heard another out of the altar say, Even so, Lord God Almighty, true

and righteous are thy judgments.

21 July 2010 The Day of the Lord – Chapters 44-16 Page 6 of 21

1. [And there fell a great star from heaven. burning as it were a lamp…] A star falling from heaven is one who will leave a higher station - whose character and course would be like a meteor shooting through the sky. It is some prince of brilliant talents, who appears suddenly and sweeps rapidly over the world; excites consternation and alarm; and whose path is marked by desolation. This is non other than the Dragon, Satan himself.

Revelation 12:7-9 7 And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the

dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, 8 And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven.

9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceives the whole world: he was cast out into the earth,

and his angels were cast out with him.

2. [And the name of the star is called Wormwood…] From the Greek word “apsinthos“which is a well-known bitter herb. Satan, the Dragon, has the name of “bitterness” as the maker of calamity and injustice.

3. [And it fell upon the third part of the rivers and upon the fountains of waters…] “Rivers” means a current, brook or running water and as used here has a spiritual meaning…the flowing out of the indwelling spirits of these people. Satan will fall from heaven and force strong deceptions upon the souls of unbelievers like a flood.

Romans 1:28 KJV And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things

which are not convenient;

4. [Poured out his vial upon the rivers and fountains of waters; and they became blood...Many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter] The word for “blood” is “haima” and stands for "blood" shed by violence. It is used especially for the shedding of the blood of sacrificial victims which will have a purifying power. The word for “bitter” used here means to embitter, to exasperate, or to render angry. It denotes "bitterness" of a condition of extreme wickedness, "gall of bitterness" or "bitter gall" producing "bitter" fruit.

Romans 1:29-32 KJV 29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness,

maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, 30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil

things, disobedient to parents, 31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection,

implacable, unmerciful: 32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of

death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Page 7: Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers · Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and

5. [Thou art righteous, O Lord, which are, and was, and shall be, because you have judged thus…and thou hast given them blood to drink; for they are worthy] The angel declares that this is the act of a righteous God bringing just retribution on the guilty as a recompense for persecuting the Tribulation Saints and the Two Witnesses.

The Fourth Angel Revelation 8:12

And the fourth angel sounded, and the third part of the sun was smitten, and the third part of the moon, and the third part of the stars; so as the

third part of them was darkened, and the day shone not for a third part and the night likewise.

Revelation 16:8-9 8 And the fourth angel poured out his vial upon the sun; and power was given

unto him to scorch men with fire. 9 And men were scorched with great heat, and blasphemed the name of God, which hath

power over these plagues: and they repented not to give him glory.

1. [The third part of the sun was smitten…] The “third part” - Satan’s kingdom is to be smitten such that the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars will be covered in darkness in a spiritual sense. The glory of Sun [the Triune Godhead], the Moon [Jesus, the Lamb of God], and the Stars [the Saints] will not be allowed to penetrate this moral darkness of evil created by Satan and his Antichrist.

2. [Power was given unto him to scorch men with fire…and men were scorched with great heat] The Greek word used for “scorch” is the only time it is used in the New Testament and means “to burn with heat” those who are a part of Satan’s Kingdom. They will be stricken mightily with a fierce intensity by the heat of God’s judgments.

3. [They repented not…] No repentance will take place in consequence of the above plagues of God’s judgment in that unhappy kingdom. The effect was not to produce repentance on account of their sins but a blasphemy of God unto perdition.

The Fifth Angel Revelation 16:10-11

10 And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast; and his kingdom was full of darkness; and they gnawed their tongues for pain,

11 And blasphemed the God of heaven because of their pains and their sores, and repented not of their deeds.

Page 8: Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers · Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and

21 July 2010 The Day of the Lord – Chapters 44-16 Page 8 of 21

1. [And the fifth angel poured out his vial upon the seat of the beast…] The "seat” or center of the power of the beast had not yet been touched. Now, however, there is to be a direct blow aimed at that power, but not as its final overthrow, for that is reserved for the pouring out of the last vial.

2. [And they gnawed their tongues for pain…] This is a "most significant expression of the writhings of anguish." This expression is not used elsewhere in the Bible. It stands for a deep anguish that would cause deep distress and darkness with an increase of "blasphemy". The system will be as corrupt as it was before, and people will still be under its evil influence.

Revelation 9:1-11 1And the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star fall from heaven unto

the earth: and to him was given the key of the bottomless pit. 2 And he opened the bottomless pit; and there arose a smoke out of the pit, as the

smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by reason of the smoke of the pit.

3 And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth: and unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

4 And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree; but only those men which have not

the seal of God in their foreheads. 5 And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should

be tormented five months: and their torment was as the torment of a scorpion, when he strikes a man.

6 And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

7 And the shapes of the locusts were like unto horses prepared unto battle; and on their heads were as it were crowns like gold, and their faces

were as the faces of men. 8 And they had hair as the hair of women, and their teeth were as the teeth of lions.

9 And they had breastplates, as it were breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was as the sound of chariots of many horses running to battle.

10 And they had tails like unto scorpions, and there were stings in their tails: and their power was to hurt men five months.

11 And they had a king over them, which is the angel of the bottomless pit, whose name in the Hebrew tongue is Abaddon, but in the Greek tongue his name is Apollyon

3. [And I saw a star fall from heaven unto the earth…] An angel encompassed with light suddenly descending from heaven and coming unto mankind {unto the earth} in the third part of the world…Satan’s seat of power - his Kingdom on earth with the Antichrist has his possessed overseer.

Page 9: Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers · Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and

4. [And to him was given the key of the bottomless pit…] The word, for the "bottomless pit" is given by the Greek word abussos” from which we derive our word "abyss". Here it refers to Hades, the region of the dead or the abode of wicked spirits under the domination of the fallen angels or devils who in turn are under the command of Satan.

Having the key to this abode is to have power to confine those who are there, or to permit them to go at large from these dark regions and allow them to spread desolation over the earth.

5. [And there came out of the smoke locusts upon the earth…] The bottomless pit was filled with vapor and with locust-like creatures. As soon as the gate was opened the whole contents expanded and burst forth upon the earth. Satan carries on his designs by blinding the eyes of men, by extinguishing light and knowledge, and promoting ignorance and error. He first deceives men, and then destroys them.

6. [And unto them was given power, as the scorpions of the earth have power…] This was something that was imparted to them beyond their ordinary nature. The word for power means to be able to exercise extraordinary physical and mental influence over others.

7. [And it was commanded them that they should not hurt the grass of the earth, neither any green thing, neither any tree...] Their purpose would be to vex and trouble only the” unsaved nations and not hurt the “saved nations” {grass of the earth} nor the Tribulation Saints {trees}…

Matthew 25:32-34; 41; 46 KJV 32 And before him shall be gathered all nations: and he shall separate them

one from another, as a shepherd divides his sheep from the goats: 33 And he shall set the sheep on his right hand, but the goats on the left.

34 Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, blessed of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:

41 Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me, you who are cursed, into everlasting fire, prepared for the devil and his angels:

46 And these shall go away into everlasting punishment: but the righteous into life eternal.

8. [And to them it was given that they should not kill them, but that they should be tormented five months:..] They will be sent to inflict plagues and torments rather than to take life, and the characteristic effects of their appearing would be compared to the sting of a scorpion bringing distress and suffering rather than death as well as acts of oppression, cruelty, and violence; such a condition of public suffering that people would regard death as a relief if they could find it.

Page 10: Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers · Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and

The five months alludes to the ordinary time period of a locust invasion at a specific location. A locust swarm will move from place to place and completely destroy it. Such plagues {season of time} are known to last several years.

These marauding devils and evil spirits will move from place to place within Satan’s Kingdom in five month periods bringing pain as the sting of a scorpion.

The scorpion is an animal with eight feet, eight eyes, and a long, jointed tail, ending in a pointed weapon or sting. It is the largest and the most malignant of all the insect tribes. There are few animals more formidable, and none more irascible, than the scorpion.

When about a hundred of them were put together in the same glass, as soon as they came into contact they began to exert all their rage

in mutual destruction, so that in a few days there remained but fourteen, which had killed and devoured all the rest.

The tail of the scorpion is long, and formed after the manner of a string of beads, the last larger than the others, and longer; at the end of which are, sometimes, two stings which are hollow, and filled with a cold poison, which it ejects into the part which it stings. When the scorpion has stung, the place becomes inflamed and hardened; it reddens by tension, and is painful by intervals, being now chilly, now burning, then again shivering and trembling. The extremities of the body become cold, the groin swells, and the skin feels a perpetual pricking, as if by needles. The sting of the scorpion becomes the emblem of what causes acute and dangerous suffering.

9. [Revelation 9:7-11] John describes the appearance of the evil spirits and devils {locusts} as well as their attacks and the name of their leader. They are equipped for their work like horses prepared to battle. They possess great authority, and are assured of their victory: They have crowns like gold on their heads - it is not a true, but a counterfeit authority.

They have the show of wisdom with the faces of men but with the spirit of devils. They have all the allurements of seeming beauty, to ensnare and defile the minds of men. Though they appeared with the tenderness of women {hair like women} they had the teeth of lions and were really cruel creatures.

They had the defense and protection of earthly powers {breastplates of iron}. They make a mighty noise as they fly about from one part of Satan’s Kingdom of the Antichrist to another, and the noise of their motion was like that of an army with chariots and horses.

The king and commander of this hellish squadron is described as the angel of the bottomless pit. He is a prince and governor with the powers of darkness under his command. His name is “Abaddon” or “Apollyon” the destroyer, for that is his business. His design, and employment, to which he diligently attends and takes a horrid hellish pleasure is this destroying work…sending out his emissaries and armies to destroy the souls of men.

The Sixth Angel

Revelation 16:12 And the sixth angel poured out his vial upon the great river Euphrates;

and the water thereof was dried up, that the way of the kings of the east might be prepared.

1. The Euphrates River or the Furat in Arabic flows from its origins in Turkey through Syria and into Iraq. At the city of Al-Qurnah, it joins the Tigris River and flows to the Persian Gulf and forms Iraq's southern border with Iran. The entire length of the Euphrates waterway is just under 3000 kilometers. While the Euphrates River flows through Syria and Iraq, most of the water, about 88 percent, originates in Turkey.

The Ataturk Dam, which is the fourth largest dam in the world, will create a reservoir of over 11 trillion gallons. The Turks began filling the reservoir is 1990, stopping the flow of the Euphrates for a month. Although the Turks released water from other dams to compensate for the reduced flow, the main body of water was stopped and the river bed was completely “dried up”!

Revelation 9:13-17 13 And the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the

golden altar which is before God, 14 Saying to the sixth angel which had the trumpet, Loose the four angels which

are bound in the great river Euphrates. 15 And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day,

and a month, and a year, for to slay the third part of men. 16 And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand

thousand: and I heard the number of them. 17 And thus I saw the horses in the vision, and them that sat on them, having

breastplates of fire, and of jacinth, and brimstone: and the heads of the horses were as the heads of lions; and out of their mouths issued

fire and smoke and brimstone.

2. THE ALTAR OF INCENSE was a small table of shittim-wood, covered with plates of gold; it was eighteen inches square, and three feet high. At the four corners were four horns, and all around its top was a little border or crown. On each side were two rings, into which staves might be inserted for the purpose of carrying it. It stood in the Holy place; not in the Holy of Holies, but before it, between the golden candlestick and the table of showbread, and the priests burned incense upon it every morning and evening.

3. [A voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God…]This is the voice of God…a cry for vengeance {Horn 1}, and one which summons judgment {Horn 2}and indicates that the horns of the altar have contracted guilt and not innocence {Horn 3}, saying, "It is time 'to finish the transgression, make and end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to confirm the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy' {Daniel 9:24 – Horn 4}.

4. [Loose the four angels which are bound in the great river Euphrates…]

These four angels were held in reserve {bound} at the river Euphrates and then released {loosed} by the Sixth Angel to fulfill their duties. Remember that blood from the brazen altar of sacrifice was sprinkled on the four horns of the golden altar of incense in atonement for sin…thus each Angel took blood from his respective horn…the Angel of Vengeance…the Angel of Judgment…the Angel of Guilt…and the Angel of finishing the transgression prophesized by Daniel.

5. [And the four angels were loosed, which were prepared for an hour, and a day, and a month, and a year] Once again John uses a strange way to describe the timing of this event rather than using normal usage words. There are four elements of time to match the four horns of the altar and their four angels. The number “four” is the Scriptural number for Satan’s kingdom of the world. om.

There is an inversion of the description…starting with the smallest – an hour – and ending with the largest – a year. Each designation is included in the next element of time, i.e., an hour is contained in the day which is contained in the month which is contained in the year. Each factor of time refers to each specific event brought about by the four angels carrying out the blood decree from each of the four horns of the golden altar...

Revelation 9:18-21 18 By these three was the third part of men killed, by the fire, and by the smoke,

and by the brimstone, which issued out of their mouths. 19 For their power is in their mouth, and in their tails: for their tails were like unto

serpents, and had heads, and with them they do hurt. 20 And the rest of the men which were not killed by these plagues yet repented not of the

works of their hands, that they should not worship devils, and idols of gold, and silver, and brass, and stone, and of wood :which neither can see, nor hear, nor walk:

21 Neither repented they of their murders, nor of their sorceries, nor of their fornication, nor of their thefts.

The hour is the “Hour of Judgment” Matthew 24:42-44 KJV

42 Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come. 43 But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and

would not have suffered his house to be broken up. 44 Therefore, also be ready: for in such an hour as you think not the

Son of man will come.

21 July 2010 The Day of the Lord – Chapters 44-16 Page 13 of 21

The day is the “Day of the Lord” } 2 Peter 3:10

But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth

also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

The month is the “Month of Vengeance” Hosea 5:7 KJV

They have dealt treacherously against the LORD: for they have begotten strange children: now shall a month devour them with their portions.

The year is the “Year of Visitation” Jeremiah 23:12 KJV

Wherefore their way shall be unto them as slippery ways in the darkness: they shall be driven on, and fall therein: for I will bring evil upon them,

even the year of their visitation, said the LORD.

The message is clear…”Judgment” will come upon the seat of Satan’s Kingdom And his Antichrist which will “finish the transgression” {making an end of sins and to make reconciliation for iniquity}; bring “vengeance” upon the treachery; and to place guilt upon the condemned.

6. [And the number of the army of the horsemen were two hundred thousand thousand: and I heard the number of them…] The word used here is “hippikos” which means an “equestrian” and is the only time it is used in the new testament. Thus, “hippikos” is an adjective modifying the word “army” and signifies a "cavalry" or mobile army.

John saw an immense host of cavalry. They appeared to be divided into large bodies that were in some degree separate, and that are reckoned by two myriads of myriads, or twice ten thousand myriads…200 million in all.

Remember that this refers to the Kings of the East crossing over a damned Euphrates River. China is the only nation that fits the description. China boasted on May Day of the new millennium that she had an army of 200 million - a mobile army of tanks, armored personnel carriers, missile launchers, etc. as well as a horse cavalry capable of traversing any terrain in battle.

7. [Verses 17-21] Their appearance was unusual, and deserved a particular description. The breastplates are said to be composed of "fire, and jacinth, and brimstone"; that is, the breastplates had three colors.

The word "fire" here simply denotes a fiery red. The word "jacinth" means a deep purple-reddish blue. The word "brimstone means made of sulphur or simply yellow…these are the colors of the dragon – the symbol of China as well as the colors used in her military.

Page 14: Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers · Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and

The description of fire, smoke, and brimstone coming out of their mouths is one conveyed by the discharge of gunfire or missiles. This is not language which would be employed to describe the onset of ancient cavalry in the mode of warfare which prevailed then. The description is one of a helicopters, tanks, missile launchers, airplanes, etc. God will use China and her allies to bring pressure to bear on the “seat of the beast” {Satan’s Kingdom} – the “third part” of the world.

8. [And I saw three unclean spirits…] They assumed a visible form which would well represent their odiousness-that of frogs-but still they are spoken of as "spirits." They are "devils and evil spirits", that proceed from the dragon {Satan}, the beast {Satan’s Kingdom}, and the false prophet {Antichrist}

9. [Like frogs…] The Greek word for frog written here does not occur elsewhere in the New Testament. The frog is employed as a symbol characterized by:

a rough, harsh, coarse voice;

a symbol of reproaching;

a symbol of impudence;

a symbol of pride {the frog swells his size, and distends his cheeks}

10. [Out of the mouth of the dragon…] There will be a manifestation of the power of Satan which will be bold, arrogant, proud, loquacious, hostile to truth, and which would be well represented by the hoarse murmur of the frog.

11. [And out of the mouth of the beast…] There will be an arrogant denunciation and manifestation of pride from “the seat of the beast” {Satan’s Kingdom} as represented by the croaking of the frog and still living and being as hostile as ever to oppose the reign of truth upon the earth.

12. [And out of the mouth of the false prophet…] The Antichrist will claim to be the Prophet of God greater than Jesus thereby declaring that he is not God.

13. […which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle] Denoting evil spirits working what seems to be miracles in order to deceive the world into believing that the Antichrist is able to overcome Jesus…and to gather them together to do battle against him and his saints as they defend the Jews at Armageddon.

14. [Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watches, and keeps his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame]

Mark 13:33, 35-37 KJV 33 Take heed, watch and pray: for you know not when the time is.

35 Watch therefore: for you know not when the master of the house will come, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:

36 Lest coming suddenly he finds you sleeping. 37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch .

Luke 21:34-36 KJV 34 And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come

upon you unawares. 35 For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth.

36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Luke 12:37-38;40 KJV 37 Blessed are those servants, whom the lord when he cometh shall find watching: verily

I say unto you, that he shall gird himself, and make them to sit down to meat, and will come forth and serve them.

38 And if he shall come in the second watch , or come in the third watch , and find them so, blessed are those servants.

40 Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not.

15. [And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon…] The Antichrist gathers the nations together for a great battle to be fought in a central battlefield called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon. .

Megiddo in the Jezreel Valley

Megiddo is the jewel in the crown of biblical archaeology. Strategically perched above the most important land route in the ancient Near East, the city dominated international traffic for over 6,000 years – from 7,000 B.C. through to biblical times. As civilizations came and went, succeeding settlements at ancient Megiddo were built on the ruins of their predecessors, creating a multi-layered archaeological legacy that abounds in unparalleled treasures that include several monumental temples, lavish palaces, mighty fortifications, and remarkably engineered water systems.

Megiddo was the site of epic battles that decided the fate of western Asia. It was here that the Egyptians took their first steps toward empire building when Pharaoh Thutmose III, in the 15th century B.C., conquered Canaan; it was from here that Assyria staged its deportation of the people of the Northern Kingdom of Israel; and it was here that Josiah—the last righteous king of the lineage of David—was killed.

Megiddo is the only site in Israel mentioned by every great power in the ancient Near East. In the New Testament it appears as Armageddon a location of the millennial battle between the forces of good and evil. Megiddo is an archetypal historical site whose cast of characters includes Canaanites, Egyptians, Israelites, Assyrians, and Persians in the biblical period and Ottoman Turks and Englishmen in the modern era.

Page 16: Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers · Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and

Megiddo in the modern era has also played a decisive role in battles for the control over the Jezreel Valley. In World War I, British Field Marshal Edmund Allenby, leading an Australian cavalry division and the Tenth Indian infantry, dislodged a group of about 100 Turkish fighters defending the last vestiges of the Ottoman Empire. Allenby used tactics similar to those of Thutmose III (over 3000 years earlier) by catching the Turks unaware.

Megiddo has great significance for both Christians and Jews, the site was chosen as the historic meeting place for the 1964 visit of Pope Paul VI with Israel’s President, Zalman Shazar, and prime minister, Levi Eshkol. It was the first visit ever of a pope to the Holy Land.

The Seventh Angel Revelation 11:14

The second woe is past; and, behold, the third woe cometh quickly.

The Final Judgment begins with the Seventh Angel sounding this event and pouring out his vial of God’s wrath upon iniquity, rebellion, and idolatry. This is the Third and last Woe – the work of the Seventh Angel... The Final Judgment which encompasses three events:

The Judgment of the Great Whore

The Battle of Armageddon

The Judgment of Satan and His Antichrist

Micah 4:1 KJV For, behold, the day comes, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea,

and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that comes shall burn them up, said the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.

This is the last of the trumpets, implying, of course, that under this the series of visions was to end, and that this was to introduce the state of things under which the affairs of the world were to be wound up.

Here is the account of the seventh and last angel pouring forth his vial, contributing his part towards the accomplishment of the downfall of Babylon, which was the finishing stroke. And here, as before, observe,

Fieldmarshal Edmund Allenby, Lloyd George and King Faysal in London, 1919.

Revelation 11:15-19 15 And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven,

saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever.

16 And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshipped God,

17 Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which are, and was, and yet to come; because you have taken your great power, and have reigned. 18 And the nations were angry, and your wrath is come, and the time of the

dead, that they should be judged, and that you should give reward unto your servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear your name, small

and great; and should destroy them which destroy the earth. 19 And the temple of God was opened in heaven, and there was seen in his temple the ark of his testament: and there were lightnings, and voices, and

thunderings, and an earthquake, and great hail.

Revelation 16:17-21 17 And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great

voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done. 18 And there were voices, and thunders, and lightnings; and there was a great

earthquake, such as was not since men were upon the earth, so mighty an earthquake, and so great.

19 And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the

cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath. 20 And every island fled away, and the mountains were not found.

21 And there fell upon men a great hail out of heaven, every stone about the weight of a talent: and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail;

for the plague thereof was exceeding great.

The vile of the Seventh Angel pours out God’s judgment…

On the prince of the power of the air, that is, Satan himself. His powers are to be restrained, his policies confounded; he is to be bound by God's chain; and the sword of God will be upon his eye and upon his arm. He, as well as all the powers on the earth, are subject to the almighty power of God.

On Satan’s kingdom. Satan used all possible means to prevent the fall of Babylon by his influence upon the minds of men, blinding their judgments and perverting them, hardening their hearts, raising their enmity to the gospel. But now he is no longer able to support his evil cause any longer.

On the wicked followers of Satan and the AntiChrist. Though it fell upon them as a dreadful storm, as if the stones of the city, tossed up into the air, came down upon their heads, like hailstones of a talent weight each, yet they were so far from repenting that they blasphemed the God who punished them. Here was a dreadful plague of the heart, a spiritual judgment more dreadful and destructive than all the rest.

…and It Produced…

A thankful voice from heaven, pronouncing the work was done. The church triumphant in heaven saw it, and rejoiced; the church militant on earth saw it, and became triumphant. It is finished.

A mighty commotion on the earth-an earthquake, so great as never experienced before, shaking the very centre, and ushering thunder and lightning.

The fall of Babylon, the Whore and Church of the Nations which had rule over the nations by taking in the idolatry of the nations and incorporating it into her religion - something of the Jewish, something of the pagan, and something of the Christian religion, she was as three in one. God now gives unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath.

Jesus had to deal with the cup of God’s wrath and judgment in Gethsemane where He prayed in agony. It is necessary to consider each of the synoptic gospels in order to gain a clear picture of everything Jesus did that night.

First he fell down to the ground… Mark 14:35-36 KJV

35 And he went forward a little, and fell on the ground, and prayed that, if it were possible, the hour might pass from him.

36 And he said, “Abba, Father, all things are possible unto thee; take away this cup from me: nevertheless not what I will, but what you will”

Then he went prostrate on his face… Matthew 26:37-39 KJV

37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

38 Then he said unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

39 And he went a little further, and fell on his face, and prayed, saying, O my Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless

not as I will, but as you will.

Finally he rose up to kneel and entered into great agony… Luke 22:41-45 KJV

41 And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast, and kneeled down, and prayed, 42 Saying,” Father, if you be willing, remove this cup

from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done”. 43 And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him.

44 And being in an agony he prayed more earnestly: and his sweat was as it were great drops of blood falling down to the ground.

Page 19: Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers · Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and

Tradition and theologians teach that Jesus as a human, was afraid to die and besought his father to “remove this ordeal from him”, in order to give us an example of how to overcome some traumatic experience and trust in God.

But scripture teaches otherwise. Remember we said above that Jesus and the Father discussed how to redeem fallen man? It was Jesus who offered to die in our place to satisfy justice. Scripture testifies that….

Jesus had a mission to accomplish and he was well aware of the consequences that it would impose upon him…

John 12:27 “Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this

hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

He was determined to accomplish it…

Luke 9:51 And it came to pass, when the time was come that he should be received

up, he steadfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,

He discussed it with Moses and Elias… Moses was the leader chosen by God to lead His people out of bondage and Elias was the leader chosen by God to bring judgment upon the wicked followers of Baal. Jesus had a mission to accomplish both these tasks. What better thing to do than to discuss them with the leaders who were experienced?

Luke 9:30-31 30 And, behold, there talked with him two men, which were Moses and Elias:

31 Who appeared in glory, and spoke of his decease which he should accomplish at Jerusalem.

This is not the testimony of one who is afraid to die. There must have been another reason... it was the cup that he had to drink in order to satisfy justice. Legally, the cup is used as the vehicle of justice whereby judgment “pours out” the destiny for both good and evil…

Cup – Greek word Poteerion = one's lot or experience, whether joyous or adverse, divine appointments, whether favorable or unfavorable, are likened to a cup which God presents one to drink

…For Good… Psalms 116:12-14 KJV

12 What shall I render unto the LORD for all his benefits toward me? 13 I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD.

14 I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people.

Page 20: Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers · Revelation 14:12-20 - The Final Messengers 12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and

…and For Evil… Psalms 11:5-6 KJV

5 The LORD tests the righteous: but the wicked and him that loves violence his soul hates.

6 Upon the wicked he shall rain snares, fire and brimstone, and an horrible tempest: this shall be the portion of their cup .

Jesus knew that the cup that He had to drink was the cup of justice which would for all eternity separate {by his blood} the righteous into life everlasting but the wicked into everlasting damnation. That is why he pleaded with his Father…”Is there some other way?”

Psalms 75:8 KJV For in the hand of the LORD there is a cup , and the wine is red; it is full of mixture; and he pours out of the same: but the dregs thereof, all the wicked

of the earth shall wring them out, and drink them.

And remember that as the Son of God, Jehovah {preincarnate Jesus}, He created all mankind and loved them all and didn’t “want any to perish”.

John 1:1-3 KJV 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,

and theWord was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God.

3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

So between his death and resurrection, Jesus descended into Sheol where both hell and paradise resided…

1 Peter 3:18-19 KJV 18 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he

might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit:

19 By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in prison;

…to announce to those in paradise that salvation had been accomplished and that He was there to lead them into the third heaven…

2 Corinthians 12:2-4 KJV 2 I knew a man in Christ above fourteen years ago, (whether in the

body, I cannot tell; or whether out of the body, I cannot tell: God knows;) such an one caught up to the third heaven.

4 How that he was caught up into paradise, and heard unspeakable words, which it is not lawful for a man to utter.

…but to those which were in hell, he had to announce that they were to be “cast out into outer darkness where there would be the weeping and gnashing of teeth”…

Mark 9:48-49 KJV 48 Where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched .

49 For every one shall be salted with fire, and every sacrifice shall be salted with salt.

Jesus left us a memorial of this sorrowful task so that we would not forget His love or sacrifice for us…

1 Corinthians11:23-27 KJV 23 For I have received of the Lord that which also I delivered unto you,

That the Lord Jesus the same night in which he was betrayed took bread: 24 And when he had given thanks, he broke it, and said, Take, eat: this is

my body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of me. 25 After the same manner also he took the cup, when he had

supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood: this do as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.

26 For as often as ye eat this bread, and drink this cup, you do show the Lord's death till he come.
