Key Demographic:

70% of Hispanics in the United States are non-

immigrant

Importance of intentional strategies at various stages:

--Discernment Stage (family,parish, school, diocese,

national level)--Application Stage--Formation Stage--Ongoing Formation Stage

Strategy for both:--Immigrant population--Non-immigrant

population

“Toolbox” for:--Bishops--Vocation Directors

VOCATIONS & YOUTH MINISTRY

Concern: we are losing Hispanic youth and young adults especially in the second and third generations

Opportunity: helping leaders in youth, campus, and young adult ministry be more intentional in creating a culture of vocations in their ministries

A couple keys:--World Youth Day--Better coordination with La Red (organization committed to the evangelization and formation of Hispanic youth and young adults)

ASOSIACION DE RELIGIOSAS

HISPANAS EN LOS ESTADOS UNIDOS

(ARHEU)

--Not meant to be a conference like LCWR or CMSWR--A voluntary group of sisters from different congregations concerned with the formation and integration of women religious from Latin American countries who serve immigrant populations

Key: each diocese has policies regarding just compensation for religious

CCLV has a concern that these are being followed
