Training to be conducted in groupsof one person per 2m².Maximum 1,000 people at a venue. Contact training and competition. Social distancing of 1.5m betweenplayers.Spacing so that there is no morethan one person per 2m².Some sharing of sportingequipment for uses such asthrowing or hitting a softball, use ofa fitness equipment.Contact training or physicallycontested activity drills.

Softball SA is following the framework provided by the Australian Institue of Sport (AIS) Level B and is implementingstep 2 of the South Australian Roadmap for easing COVID-19 restirictions, as of Monday 1st June 2020

All clubs/associations must complete a COVIDSafe Plan prior to training recomencing. Records of attendance at training are maintained and coordinated by a nominated member of each club.Social distancing to be implemented – 1.5m.Spacing so that there is no more than one person per 2m².Any handling of equipment is to be kept to a minimum.Only essential people are to attend training sessions (i.e. players, coaches, and volunteers involved inoperations and one parent/carer of participants).Regular breaks are to be provided for the purpose of rehydrating and hand sanitising.Toilets are to be open for use.Restriction on the number of people using the toilets at any one time to apply dependent upon the size ofthe amenities.Soap and sanitiser to be available in the toilets at all times.Players are to enter and leave the diamond and venue in a coordinated manner minimising contact withothers and not gathering in large groups.No social activity is to occur once training has concluded.Download the COVIDsafe App and keep a list of people at training to enable contact tracing.

Facility Set Up:

Ensure the 'Organisng TrainingPlanning & Conduct' steps arefollowed.Effectively communicate sessiondetails, location and time. Hand hygiene stations at the entryand exits of the dugouts & bullpens.Provide hand washing guidance to allparticipants and volunteers.Wipe down all surfaces and objectswith appropriate anti-bacterial/disinfectant wipes or soap,particularly those frequently touched.This includes door handles, lightswitches, kitchen surfaces, bathroomsurface, phones, remote controls andany other high touch areas.Set up training space on diamondinline with social distancing protocolsUse caution throughout all sessions.

Tasks that can be completed athome should be e.g.stretching/recovery. Must not arrive more than 15 minutesprior to training commencing, and ifarriving by vehicle, remain in thevehicle until five minutes beforetraining to avoid gatherings.Bring personal sanitiserMaintain social distancing protocols.Come already prepared to train –changing rooms will not be in use.Bring their own drink bottles and theymust to be clearly labelled. Nosharing of drink bottles is to bepermitted.Leave the venue immediately oncethe training session has concluded.Softball SA recommends all membersdownload the COVIDsafe app.

Ensure spaces at each facility,surfaces and objects are regularlycleaned with disinfectant.Promote regular and thorough handwashing by volunteers andparticipants.Provide sanitising hand rubdispensers in prominent placesaround the venue.Ensure sanitising hand rub dispensersare regularly refilled.Ensure soap dispensers in toilets areregularly refilled.Ensure bins are provided around thevenue.Entry and exit points to be put inplace to ease congestion.

Hygiene Management

Facilities Individuals

Players, officials, volunteers and/or theirparents/carers should carry handsanitiser on their person in order toenable good personal hygiene.Maintain social distancing protocolsIf using tissues, place them directly in thebins provided.Seek to avoid the use of public toilets,however if necessary, ensure hands arewashed thoroughly.Each participant is to provide their owndrink bottle that is clearly labelled and isonly used by that individual. No sharingof drink bottles.No sharing of pens or clip boards, eachvolunteer must bring their own tovenues.Wash your hands frequently with soapand water, before and after eating, andafter going to the toilet.

Cover mouth and nose with a tissue or yourelbow (not your hands) when you cough orsneeze.Wash hands with soap and water often.Use hand sanitiser gel if soap and water are notavailable.Do not touch your eyes, nose or mouth if yourhands are not clean.No spitting at any time.Wipe down all surfaces and objects withappropriate antibacterial/ disinfectant wipes orsoap, particularly those frequently touched. Thisincludes door handles, light switches, kitchensurfaces, bathroom surface, phones, remotecontrols and any other high touch areas.Do not share drink bottles.Do not touch mobile phones during breaks intraining.Practice social distancing. If someone comesand stand next to you, move around the fieldand ensure you implement social distancingrequirements.

Mandatory temperature check will occour onentry for all Softball SA programs.Players, officials, volunteers and/or theirparents/carers should carry hand sanitiser ontheir person in order to enable good personalhygiene.Maintain social distancing protocols.No hand shaking, high fives or body contact.Records of attendace at training aremaintaned and coordinated by the nominatedofficial.All attendance records to be submitted toSSA Office.

Be prepared to train
