● Teachers may bring their children (ages 5-12) with them to the classroom
● Administrators are working with employees to create flexible schedules
● On a case-by-case basis, some employees are working 100% from home
● Community-based childcare options are also available

the mail from their child’s school with details regarding teacher assignment

State Accreditation
HCS 2020-2021 Return-to-School Plan Updates
100% of HCS schools accredited without conditions
● Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) has waived state accreditation for 2021-2022 school year
● VDOE remains in communication with U.S. Department of Education regarding decision to administer SOL tests for 2020-2021 school year
● 2019-2020 graduation rates to be released by September 30, 2020

● All schools will remain fully accredited without conditions
● 95% of third graders will read on-grade level (as measured by HCS Lexile criteria)
● Each middle school student will explore at least two career pathways prior to entering ninth grade
