RETREATS HAVE TIME FOR REFLECTION & INTEGRATION

To “retreat” means to step back and pull within and every true retreat is set up to allow time for a deeper integration of whatever is being taught. In general they are a minimum of 5 days and often extend to 10 days – although we have seen many that are even 30 days long. There’s an art to designing and laying out a well-balanced retreat. Even more importantly a retreat is life-changing in every sense of the word and that is why we call these retreats “transformational.”

RETREATS ARE NOT WORKSHOPS IN A PRETTY PLACE

Transformational destination retreats are a must for any heart-based entrepreneur, healer or coach – any kind of facilitator can and should be adding retreats to their business. The key is to make sure you are creating a life-changing retreat, not a workshop in a pretty place.

There are times when you want to do workshops and large stage events because you can reach lots of folks in a short time and introduce them to your work and all you do – and that’s awesome! And then there are times when you want to engage with your tribe in a more intimate way and get out of the classroom and make your teachings real. That is when you do a retreat.

Retreats create the space and environment for people to entirely shift their point of view, perspective, attitude, direction, level of self-awareness, confidence, self-love – and so much more! MAKE SURE YOU DESIGN YOUR RETREAT WITH A MIX OF RELAXING & LEARNING

Retreats should not be structured like workshops and big live events. There needs to be enough days to allow people to relax and open up otherwise they will not be transformational. There is always a mixture of time for relaxing and rejuvenation – and time for activities and learning. Otherwise your event would be considered a workshop.

MAKE SURE YOU ALIGN YOUR LOCATION & ACTIVITIES WITH YOUR TEACHINGS

The location of the retreat is critical and it’s rarely about where YOU want to go – but more importantly it’s where the material you are sharing needs you to go. In addition – your retreat location and activities should align with the theme of your retreat and what you are teaching so that your activities actually help teach what you are sharing.

LEVERAGE YOUR TIME USING RETREATS

Retreats allow you to leverage your valuable time and grow your business more naturally without having to be overtly salesy – your work ends up selling itself when you help create transformation within people. Working one-on-one with clients will eventually cause burnout and it’s critical to build your business with a number of different ways to interact with your tribe so you stay refreshed and inspired. Leveraging your time will remove the income cap from your career and allow you to make the income you desire.

A RETREAT-BASED BUSINESS CAN BE MOBILE – OR THE DESTINATION CAN BE YOUR HOMETOWN

You can create the kind of business that can function from anyplace in the world and you can travel, change lives AND make good money doing so. Being able to bring your family around the world, eat different foods, and experience different cultures is very powerful. It opens our minds, makes us more tolerant, and increases our compassion making us better people. Of course you could also be the destination for all your clients to come to if you prefer it better that way!

BE AN EXPERT WHO STANDs OUT IN your NICHE

Retreats allow you to grow as a heart-based entrepreneur, healer or coach as you continue to hone your skills and expertise. They set you up as an expert and allow you to shine, express your mojo, and your tribe gets to know, like and trust you on a deeper level. They inspire us to incorporate all that we are into all that we do so that we stand out in the crowd and celebrate and monetize our uniqueness.

CLIENT-CENTRIC, ENGAGING, TRANSFORMATIVE

TRIPS SELL

If you want to be a retreat expert that leads memorable retreats, then you must have a trip page that is client-centric, captivating, and shares all the amazing activities that your client is going to experience, plus describe all the wonderful transformation that will happen on your retreat. Unfortunately, a good many trip leaders have trip pages that are extremely blah and non-compelling. We must change that!

GOT A SYSTEM & STRATEGY FOR YOUR RETREAT?

The truth is that most retreat leaders simply don’t have the right systems and strategies in place to get their retreats marketed and filled properly, and they are not positioning their retreats in a way that is going to attract their ideal audience. Plus they often don’t have the time to figure out all the little details that go into running a retreat or are simply overwhelmed in their business with everything else they have to do!

You need to have an incredible trip page and a proper marketing plan to sell your retreat, as well a system to do your pricing, as well as a post-retreat program to offer to your clients so they continue working with you.
