ABOUT DENNY’S & FRANCHISEE

Denny’s is America’s diner. This is where guests have come for over 60 years now to sit back, relax and enjoy delicious, hearty meals 24/7, every day of the year. From breakfast anytime to satisfying lunches and dinners, if you’re in the mood for it, chances are we’re serving it. Denny’s is always open, always welcoming and always serving up hearty diner food along with a mug of fresh hot coffee.

Lion’s Den Management was conceived in the spring of 2006 by five successful Denny’s franchisees, Doug Koch, William Cox, Robert Gentz, Kimberly Qualls and Robert Duskin, who are located within the greater Phoenix market. The idea was to bring the prosperous operators together as a group to mitigate the high cost of real estate and construction the area demanded at that time. The team was formed in 2006 and opened its first of three Denny’s restaurants in November 2007, followed by the other two in December 2007 and January 2008. The restaurants are located in Gilbert; Tramonton (North Phoenix) and Glendale, respectively. The members continued to grow their own companies in other markets while their management teams supervised the operations of the three Phoenix MSA locations. In 2010, the franchisees formed LD2, LLC to hold a fourth Denny’s restaurant which is located in a Flying J truck stop along Interstate 10 and 67th Avenue. Ultimately the last two Denny’s were opened in 2011, one is located in Buckeye, AZ and the other in San Tan Valley. In November 2016, with the growth and success of the company, the franchisees decided it would be best to have one District Manager oversee the operations, who is employed by Lion’s Den. The back-office management responsibilities including account, payroll and tax work is performed by the CPA firm owned by Robert Duskin.
