I am a Structural (Civil) engineer with 3.5+ years of experience in offshore oil and gas projects being
executed in North-sea and Gulf of Mexico. Currently I am seeking an opportunity as a structural
engineer to further improve my knowledge with new challenges.
Professional Experience:
Allseas India Engineering Services Private Limited [August 2012 – Present]
Role: Offshore Structural Engineer (Major Clients: Shell, ExxonMobil, Chevron, Conoco etc.)
Responsibilities:
In-place, lifting and transportation analysis of entire topsides (MSF plus overlying modules)
and jackets. Analyses include hydrodynamic load, vessel induced accelerations and
deformation load, wind load and static weight of the structure.
Design of strengthening for failing members of existing topsides subjected to loads from
different decommissioning operations.
Analysis and design of shear plates for in-place stability of topsides after cutting of legs
against hydrodynamic and wind loading.
Analysis and design of sea-fastenings in terms of stanchions, braces, shear plates for safe
transportation of topsides and jackets on the barge. Similarly analysis and design for sea-
fastening in terms of lashing, chains, stoppers for transporting small installation objects on
the barge for pipeline installation projects.
Checking adequacy of existing tubular and non-tubular joint using spreadsheets and finite
element analyses.
Design of support stool for load-in of topsides at quayside involving skidding, transportation
and lifting analysis.
Checking/designing of lifting arrangement involving padeyes, shackles, spreader-bars and
slings for pipeline installation projects.
Checking/designing of subsea installation aids such as buoyancy yoke, roller-guide and
protection-frame over pipeline heads for pipeline installation projects.
Preparation of detailed analysis reports for client submission as well as resolving client
comments.
Reviewing analysis reports prepared by colleagues.
Co-coordinating and communicating with other teammates from offshore offices.
Preparation of design basis and method statements involving lift-plans for topsides and
jackets.
Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Limited [July 2008 – April 2010]
Role: Construction Engineer
Responsibilities:
Graduate engineer trainee (4 months): Exposure to tender, contracts, planning, billing,
execution and quality control lab through actual responsibilities.
Execution of R.C.C. industrial structures involving structural members from foundation to
slab, trenches, column pedestals etc.
Client and subcontractor bill preparation and approval involving bar bending schedule.

Education:
Master of technology- Structural Engineering (2010-2012)
Indian Institute of Technology, Guwahati (IITG) Result: 8.44/10 (CPI)
Bachelor of engineering- Civil Engineering (2004-2008)
Walchand college of engineering, Sangli Result: 72.24 %
Technical expertise:
Analysis software packages: STAAD Pro., SESAM GeniE, FEMAP, ANSYS, SAP2000.
Drafting and reviewing software packages: AutoCAD, Autodesk design review, Navisworks.
Design codes / standards: DNV, ND, AISC, ISO and IS.
Computational Tools: MS Excel, MathCAD, Roark’s Formulae, Matlab.
Technical projects and seminars:
Master’s thesis: ‘Empirical period formulae for earthquake resistant design of buildings.’
Finite element model of existing buildings with experimentally known natural frequency
were prepared.
Models were validated against recorded natural period.
Parameters affecting natural period were identified and varied to obtain set of period data
from FE analysis.
Regression analysis of this period data was carried out and period formulae in terms of
selected parameters were developed.
The newly developed formulae performed better over existing common empirical period
formula (based only on height of the building) from seismic design codes.
Master’s seminars:
Seismic resistance and seismic retrofit of existing buildings:- It involved study of a method to
find out seismic resistance of existing building and overview of different retrofitting
techniques.
Effective flexural rigidity in RC members: It involved theoretical concept and approach to find
effective flexural rigidity and its importance.
Bachelor’s project work: ‘Characterization of burnt clay bricks from Maharashtra’
Project was aimed at finding a regional trend in characteristics of burnt clay bricks. Brick
samples from 15 different districts of Maharashtra were collected and tested for properties such
as water absorption, compressive strength, density, efflorescence etc.
Achievements and Extra-curricular:
Worked as a teaching assistant for undergraduate students in civil engineering department
Supervised the concrete technology lab. of 20 undergraduate students and evaluated their lab
reports
Secured an all India rank-251 in GATE 2010 in civil engineering.
Represented civil engineering volley-ball team during my post-graduation.
Active participation in cultural and social activities of my hostel at IITG.
Participated in YES! + Course (youth empowerment and skills workshop) conducted by the art
of living (an NGO).
