WORK EXPERIENCE UTC Aerospace Systems MANUFACTURING ENGINEER II – New Product Introduction May 2013 – Present Working closely with designers, project engineers, quality engineers and production control to successfully accomplish new product introduction, new product development and implement new engineering changes. Responsible for creating manufacturing routings, standard work, fabrication tooling for sheet metal forming and sub-assemblies. Duties: Create plan for new product introduction (Define deliverables and assigning tasks). Create manufacturing routing/planning & illustrated planning. Coordinate first article runs and assure a lean product stability. Coordinate tooling transfer between sites, improve tooling design. Benchmark incoming manufacturing process to be implemented. Customer Specifications Interpretation (GD&T). Create solid models of tooling aids on Catia, coordinate fabrication and implement it on manufacturing process. Implement new manufacturing process such as forming, trimming, sealants application and/or assembly processes. Create/update standard work. Attend meetings, write reports and give presentations to management & value stream program. Apply lean/six sigma tools to improve manufacturing processes (VSM, MFA, SIPOC, 5’S, standard work sheets, Kaizen events participation). Improve the fabrication and assembly process sequence, balancing the line using standard work operations, reducing the assembly process time 60%. Recent projects: GTF C-series fabrication details: transfer of 241 part numbers/GTF MRJ fabrication details: transfer of 197 parts numbers.
