Downer EDI - for Bechtel on Chevron’s Wheatstone LNG Project Onslow, WA

Downer EDI secured a contract with Bechtel for two electrical and instrumentation (E&I) packages for the downstream portion of the Chevron-operated Wheatstone Project in Western Australia. The Wheatstone LNG Project is one of Australia’s largest resource projects. It includes an onshore facility located at Ashburton North Strategic Industrial Area, 12 kilometres west of Onslow in Western Australia’s Pilbara region. The foundation project includes two LNG trains with a combined capacity of 8.9 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) and a domestic gas plant. Core role deliverables include (but are not limited to):

Conducting a wide array of system completions encompassing E&I, EEHA, and QA

Organising manpower, materials and engineering support to meet schedule demands

Active participation in site safety initiatives and reinforcing safety values on site

Liaising with client representatives, schedulers, engineers and supervisors

Ensuring appropriate implementation of QA/QC requirements in the field

Driving punchlist completions.

July 2014 - Feb 2016 E&I Superintendent Bechtel Australia - Santos GLNG Project Curtis Island (Gladstone), QLD

Bechtel is one of the most respected global engineering, construction, and project management companies, delivering landmark projects that create long-term progress and economic growth. Santos GLNG (a joint venture of Santos, Petronas, Total, and Kogas) hired Bechtel to design and build a liquefied natural gas complex on Curt is Island. The huge plant produces LNG for use by Australians and for customers in China, Korea, Japan, and Malaysia. The construction program was part of the largest concentration of private-capital investment in Australia’s history. Working as General E&I Superintendent for LNG Train 1, core role deliverables included (but were not limited to):

Managing a team of E&I Supervisors (direct reports), responsible for the wider oversight of +300 E&I (INLEC) Technicians

Liaising with client representatives, other discipline superintendents, schedulers, engineers and supervisors

Organising manpower, materials and engineering support to meet schedule demands

Organising breakdown and scheduled maintenance for an operating LNG gas train

Active participation in site safety initiatives and reinforcing safety values on site

Daily progress reporting and quantity reporting

Driving system and punchlist completions

Managing EEHA and 3rd party auditors

License Endorsee for the project.

Dec 2012 - July 2014 Project Manager

GB Industries Electrical Contractors - BMA’s Caval Ridge Metallurgical Coal Mine Central Queensland GB Industries has delivered +500 construction and maintenance projects throughout QLD. The 2 main components of BMA’s Greenfield Caval Ridge project include the development of a new coal mine and installation of a coal handling and preparation plant (CHPP). GB’s scope of work was specifically for the mine packages, which included a vehicle workshop and other facilities and systems as listed below. As Project Manager, liaised with clients, estimated, managed budgets and schedules, and organised manpower resources to ensure the safe, cost effective and timely completion of these project packages:

Fuel and lubricant storage and distribution systems

Heavy and light vehicle wash down facilities

Site wide lighting and power reticulation

In ground reticulation and transformers

Heavy vehicle workshop

Project was delivered on time, with nil LTI’s (500+ days LTI free).
