The South Western Melbourne Medicare Local is a government funded health care organisation providing delivery of
primary health care services, improved awareness and access to primary health care by linking community health
care organisations, general practitioners, allied healthcare professionals and local hospitals.

Information Project Coordinator
Disseminate population health applications and prepare health providers by engaging with highly customisable soft-
ware solutions to deploy patient-specific needs through informed health outcome.

Disseminate Topbar application and support health providers to adopt highly customisable software solu-

Achievements
Liaised with Western Health Hospital in a Secure Messaging Delivery (SMD) project, “Gateway Pilot”, to de-
liver secure messaging opportunities between hospital and health organisations exchanging hospital dis-
charge notifications. SMD of all otherwise faxed documents from hospitals to general practice sites, leading
to improved patient outcomes resulting from streamlined workflow and reduced handling errors.
Advised on clinical eHealth conformant IT systems for Victoria University training clinic for newly graduated
doctors working with patients under supervision of experienced doctors, resulting in enhanced learning ex-
perience for registrars
Communicated the electronic practice incentive payments scheme (ePIP), achieving 100% uptake of ePIP
eHealth elements, resulting in the greatest potential benefit of the health to patients in the catchment area.
Coordinated the National eHealth Agenda uptake with favourable outcomes for GPs, allied health, pharma-

The Westgate Division of General Practice is an independently managed government funded organisation whose key
role is to facilitate communication and programs linking communities, general practitioners and government funding

GP eConnect is a major collaborative research project between Victoria University and Westgate GP Network which
delivers secure messaging and eHealth data storage on an enterprise scale by providing leading expertise in
research, design, marketing and technical support.
Responsibilities
Develop a concept to simplify the exchange of patient health information securely between various health
providers (SMD)
Develop in liaison with VU a system to support the SMD exchange “GP e-Connect”
Propose a simple and user friendly interface layout for the SMD project
Analyse GP e-Connect useability based on user-friendliness, Interface Usability Testing Study
Research opportunities for continuous improvement based on competitive products and national standards
Internal system development and user interface testing studies
Manage internal and external pilot of GP e-Connect eHealth project
