• Employers look into the details, but they don’t have all the time in the world to read your life story. Your first resume should be no longer than one page – two, at most.

• Employers like to see involvement with the community and participation in school activities, so join clubs, play sports, volunteer, and get involved!

• Grades matter. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise.

• Your resume should be organized a certain way with a professional appearance. Trade in regular paper for ‘resume paper.’

• Consider organizing your resume this way:• Name

• Objective (one line only)

• Education (GPA helps!)

• Work or volunteer experience

• Other Activities– sports and clubs

• References with job titles and phone numbers

• (Make sure they know you are using them as references)

• Contact Information
