Technical Projects Continued Dummy Syscall - Operating Systems Apr 2014

Loaded a virtual machine using C, the Q Emulator (QEMU), and Linux command line to boot the virtual machine

Compiled and tested a new kernel using C and QEMU in order to update the virtual machine’s kernel version from Linux 2.6.18-5 to Linux 2.626.5

Added a system call to the new kernel using C so that, when run in the virtual machine, it can display “Hello World” whenever it goes from the user level to the kernel

Linux Shell - Operating Systems Jan 2014

Created and tested a shell using C++ in Linux to allow users to execute Linux terminal commands from the keyboard

Implemented commands like cd, and ls in C++ to let users traverse directories using the shell

Built a parse function using C++ to give the shell the ability to read commands with multiple inputs on the same line

JDBC Bridge - Introduction to Databases Sep – Jan 2014

Adapted a JDBC bridge sample code using Java code in the IDE Eclipse so a user can access a database server

Tested the bridge using Java to query the databases in the database server
