BIO At an early age, Les became enamored with music and soon after learned to play the Trombone and Piano. Eventually his interest evolved even more as he began playing music and performing in various local bands, Orchestras, and competition Marching Bands, (John Combs Royal Cavaliers). In high school he developed a fascination with audio technology and set his sights keenly upon a career in the music industry as a way to combine his two interests. A strong musical foundation was then formed while attending school where he studied both music and the recording industry. Les's career has allowed him to work with many of the world's finest artists, musicians and producers and develop a diverse list of clients. He learned his craft by sitting behind some of the greatest "ears" in the business while working on staff at the legendary Wally Heider Studios in Los Angeles & San Francisco California. Industry luminaries such as: Tom Dowd, Bones Howe, Don DeVito, Tommy LiPuma, Andre Fisher, Lamont Dozier, Michael J Powell, Mic Fleetwood, Bob Dylan, Al Schmitt, Elliot Scheiner, Ken Caillat, and Wally Heider himself, are just some of his engineering mentors. With engineering experience earned in world class studios, Les’s breadth of experience and unparalleled passion for great recordings puts artists in very capable hands. Keeping close to the origins of his engineering lineage, Les's work style retains a decidedly old school approach while also fully embracing all the new technology available. Cutting his teeth in the years before the digital revolution, he is at home with traditional analog studio techniques as equally with modern digital workstations. Les has the versatility to work well in a wide range of technically demanding and musically challenging recording situations. His portfolio of work spans all genres, with a heavy emphasis on Rhythm & Blues, Jazz, Rock, and Pop music.
