RESTYLANE®

Restylane®, offered at our Medical Spa in two locations Holmdel and Old Bridge in New Jersey, is another option for reducing wrinkles and fine lines. Restylane® is a wrinkle filler that is temporary, non-animal form of hyaluronic acid gel, a naturally occurring substance that binds water to cells. Restylane® injections consist of a clear gel that is injected into the skin using a very thin needle. The results are said to be visible right after treatment.

It is commonly used for lip enhancement. It is also used for other purposes like diminishing wrinkles and aging lines of the face, small lines and drooping corners of the mouth or forehead wrinkles (frown lines).

Where can products in the Restylane family be used?


Restylane injectable gel has been clinically proven to provide results that last up to 18 months in the laugh lines (nasolabial folds), with only one follow-up treatment at either 4.5 or nine months. Your healthcare professional can work with you to help you establish your Restylane Regimen. Perlane injectable gel results may last up to six months after a single treatment.

How often should I be treated?

The Restylane family of products includes Restylane, Restylane-L®, Perlane®, and Perlane-L®. These products can be used individually to add volume and fullness to the skin to correct moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds, such as the lines from your nose to the corners of your mouth (nasolabial folds or laugh lines); lipstick lines (the area just below the nose and above the upper lip); the corners of the mouth; and marionette lines (the area that extends downward from the corners of the mouth to the jawline). Restylane may also be used for lip enhancement in patients over 21 years.

When will I see results?The Restylane family of products instantly adds volume to help restore youthful contours, so you’ll see results immediately following your treatment.

How much Restylane injectable gel will I need for full correction?Due to the individual needs of each patient, it is important to discuss your full correction with your healthcare professional. However, in a clinical study where patients received full correction for their nasolabial folds (lines from the nose to the corners of the mouth) during initial treatment in the Restylane Regimen, the average volume was 2 to 3 mL per patient.
