Introduction
The scenario explains you to restrict postings from FI-Foreign exchange revaluation transaction (Activity RFBU) into a Special purpose Ledger. This can be specifically used if we want to post different GAAP valuation postings to different Special purpose ledgers.
The following example clearly illustrates the business scenario where we can apply this concept of restricting postings into a special purpose ledger.
The business requirement is to have different postings for MXGAAP and USGAAP valuations using two different valuation methods and Special purpose ledgers. The USGAAP valuation postings should not flow into the SPL for MXGAAP. To achieve this we have to restrict postings into the activity RFBU with the document type/s related to USGAAP.
Configuration in SAP

Post Document:
Run foreign currency revaluation run with valuation method using CT or ZU to verify that postings do not flow into SPL for MXGAAP (For Example ZL)
Special Purpose Ledger document posted only to USGAAP Ledger (For example: ZU) but not posted to MXGAAP ledger (For example: ZL).
This will help the business in reducing time, efforts and manual clculations in posting adjustment entries seperately for MXGAAP and USGAAP valuations. This will reduce maintainance of additional GL accoutns for valuation purpose. This will also helps in reporting MXGAAP and USGAAP valuations seperately using Special Purpose Ledgers.
