( Served All Day Saturdays & Sundays )

Its name comes from “Nahar” which means „Morning‟ in Arabic…

It was traditionally eaten after Fajr by the Moghuls, who would then sleep till Zuhr

intoxicated by its potency… Today, it‟s eaten for breakfast, and is a dinner favorite no less…

Beef shanks and marrow are slow cooked in a special blend of whole spices to

produce a unique dish that can only be described by the tasting of it

Another meaty stew from the Moghuls…

Paye are thick consommés made with mutton trotters and delicate spices,

350

Breakfast when called „Nashta,‟ cannot be without Halwa Puri & Aalu Chana Bhaji,

“The House of Bombay”… Always was, and forever remains, a glimpse of

a Romance from an age long past, when Ata Mohammad incorporated his

Company in Rawalpindi in 1922—in the Name of an alluring

“Bombay”... Then, one of the largest, most exhilarating Cities of the

Subcontinent—and now, the largest—no different than how he envisioned

the growth and rhythm of his own Company…

His company grew rapidly like the City it was named aft of, and

went on to trade across Three Continents of the World and Three

Generations of his Family—as Merchants, Importers, & Exporters of

exquisite Fabrics of Chiffons, fine Silks & Linens, elegant Furniture, and

many an artifact of lively interests of Business… His Sons, Mohammad

Akhtar Khan & Mohammad Afzal Khan continued his enigmatic

Company in the spirit of its effervescent Name, symbolized in at least one

flagship establishment called “Bombay Cloth House & Stores”—where

Presidents, Prime Ministers, Armed Forces Chiefs, & Federal Ministers of

Pakistan, and Foreign Ambassadors & Dignitaries over three decades—

would personally visit for their fittings—it was neon-lit with the rightful

slogan “The Largest Store in Town”…

Even today, his Grandson Aamir Akhtar & his Wife Nida,

continue his Company‟s timeless tradition of vibrant and constant

evolution, and this particular time, into—scrumptious gourmet Foods,

delicious mouth-watering Drinks, fine elegant Dining, & discriminating

aristocratic Smoking—as they, now present for your „Delectation &

Pleasure‟—herein “The House of Bombay…”
