Gender is one of the most consistent predictors of health and life expectancy. For men, this is not good news: worldwide, men die an average 6 years earlier than women.

We’re committed to tackling the big issues affecting men’s health, encouraging men to stay healthy, and working toward a world where men are more open to discussing ‘the big stuff’ in their lives.

We focus on three urgent men’s health issues

W e ’ R e d o i n g W h at o t h e R c h a R i t i e s c a n ’ tBy 2030, we’ll halve the life expectancy gap between men and women, and reduce the number of men dying prematurely by 25%. That’s a bold challenge, but we have what it takes to get the job done. Staying true to our entrepreneurial history and shake-things-up attitude, we go where men need us most, fund both local and global initiatives, get the best minds together to tackle big issues, and share the results to accelerate new ideas into practice.

We’ve come a long way but we’ve still got a long way to go. With your support we can do more.

g R o W a M o u s ta c h eIt all began with a moustache. For the 30 days of Movember, Mo Bros take action by growing their moustache to become walking talking billboards for men’s health. Mo Sistas sign up and commit to supporting the men in their lives, spreading the word about Movember.

ta k e t h e M o v e c h a l l e n g ePhysical activity is the best thing most of us can do for our health. Set yourself a challenge during Movember. Get active every day for 30 days, learn to swim, run a marathon or come up with your own idea – and do it in the name of men’s health.

h o s t a n e v e n tMovember has always been about getting people together. What better way to do that than a party? Organize a trivia night, dinner party or charity auction. Throw a moustache or MOVE-themed party to send off the month in style.

However you do it, Movember is all about making waves and raising funds for men’s health.

It all kicks off on November 1st, but you can get a head start and start by spreading the word and building your team early. Got a great idea to take Movember to the next level this year? Shoot an email to [email protected]

Movember’s symbol is the moustache, but the Foundation’s lifeblood is the men’s health conversation it starts. Not many places are better suited than a restaurant or pub for that conversation. Make coasters, napkins or table tents to promote your involvement. Put up flyers at reception or in the restrooms. Add a Mo to the water carafe. Change your Wi-Fi password to Movember. These are all conversation starters.

Raising dough with your Mo should be simple and fun. Give patrons an option to leave a tip donation. Perhaps ask key distributors to match your team funds raised. Maybe even raffle off a nice bottle of wine or a dinner party. All are easy to do and effective. The best fundraiser for a restaurant though is a manly menu item on the menu for the month with a donation made for each order.

Like bars & restaurants have always done, Movember provides an excuse to bring people together – to help them stay connected. You can bring people together for a special mixology or cooking class or start the party with live band karaoke. You can keep it proper with a special five course meal with wine pairings (ascots encouraged). Or get active and host a run club on Sundays before brews and football get going.

Fine cuisine and libations are what you’re all about...And for one month a year, you get to be all about moustaches and men’s health. So make the most of it and introduce some new menu items that are health conscious but fit the bill of what it means to “Cook Like a Man”.
