Federal Railroad Administration Provides Grant Funding Since 2010TRANSCAER® has managed eight consecutive years of grant funding for Transportation Emergency Response Training through the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Federal Railroad Administration since 2010. TRANSCAER® Team members including The Chlorine Institute and Renewable Fuels Association have provided training to thousands of responders nationwide for chlorine and ethanol and rail safety under these grants totaling $475,000 . *RFA trained 271 during 14 Ethanol Seminars under TRANSCAER® in 2016 through the TRANSCAER® Federal Railroad Administration’s Grant. RFA trained 795 qualified attendees to teach operational level ethanol emergencies during five ethanol emergency response train the trainer webinars/seminars under the Alert Grant through IAFC/ USDOT/PHMSA Grant.)

Transportation Rail Incident Preparedness & Response (TRIPR) Training Resource TRANSCAER® along with a host of other National TRANSCAER® Sponsors (Association of American Railroads, American Petroleum Institute (API), and the Renewable Fuels Association) and other organizations such as American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association, FEMA, EPA, Coast Guard, etc., have joined with the U.S. Department of Transportation’s Pipeline and Hazardous Materials Safety Administration (PHMSA) Team to create a NEW training resource called Transportation Rail Incident Preparedness & Response (TRIPR) specific to Flammable Liquid Unit Trains. This new resource is dedicated to Hazard Class 3 - flammable liquids (specifically crude oil and ethanol). http://dothazmat.vividlms.com/tools.asp
