The Apocalypse! No Electricity! "The Simpsons?"

In the wake of a post-apocalyptic event, a group of survivors gatherstogether and tries to recall an episode from television's "The Simpsons."From their recollections, the tale evolves into the foundation of a newtheatrical and musical art form - complete with commercials. PlaywrightAnne Washburn has taken this concept to hilarious heights in herwickedly funny "Mr. Burns, A Post-Electric Play," billed as a dark comedywith music.

Featuring music by Michael Friedman and lyrics by Washburn, the innovative contemporary work will bepresented by the UC Davis Department of Theatre and Dance in Wright Hall's Main Theatre Thursday throughSaturday May 19-21 and 26-28 at 8 p.m. and Sundays May 22 and 29 at 2 p.m.

Directed by visiting artist, Mindy Cooper.

UC Davis Sorority and Fraternity LifeUnrecognized Groups Some organizations that were once recognized fraternities or sororities at UCDavis may attempt to continue to operate despite having lost recognition fromthe University. Any operation of these groups is considered underground activityand is not sanctioned by the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life. Therefore, students should carefullyconsider their potential student conduct record before associating with an unrecognized group. These organizations have had their recognition revoked by the institution for various reasons, including suchthings as hazing, alcohol and drug abuse, risk management violations, and failure to comply with Universitypolicies and expectations. These organizations have in almost all cases also had their charter suspended orrevoked by their inter/national organization because they were not upholding fraternal values and wereengaging in risky behaviors that endangered the members and other students. For a complete list of recognized groups please visit the UC Davis Sorority and Fraternity Life Chapter Pageswebsite. If you have a question please contact the Office of Sorority and Fraternity Life 530-752-4606.
