12 Wrong document date – Closed Period
A reversing document is usually posted in the same period as the original document. Thereversal reason for this transaction is the code associated with the current period (01, 03, 05,07, 09, or 11)”. This requires the period of the original document to be open. In this case, thedocument date and the posting date will be the same. It is not necessary to manually input aposting date.
However, if the period in which the transaction originally posted is closed, the user must use reversalcode associated with the closed period (02, 04, 06, 08, 10, or 12). This will not reverse the transactionin the closed period. It only gives notice that the document originally posted in a closed period. Theuser must override the posting date with a date in an open period. In this case, the document dateand the posting date will be the different.
