SUMMARY

The research is done to fulfill our academic condition & to learn the business knowledge

practically. For business research we select the topic internet service. Our research is descriptive

research. Our objectives are to find out the internet behavior of the people & facilities of the

internet service provider. We are the five team members individually collect data from 39

people. Our sample selections are fully non-probability basis. We calculate our findings by using

Microsoft excel. From the calculation we get the internet using behavior, service provider’s

problems, service provider’s opportunity etc. After findings & analysis we our recommendation

which can be used any company for improving their business condition. After all by doing this

research we gain practical knowledge about research which we used in our practical life.

History of internet in Bangladesh

The internet came late to Bangladesh with the country gaining connectivity in 1996. In the last

few years it has grown dramatically, although obviously from a very low base. With an

estimated internet user-base of close to 700,000 coming into 2011, representing only a 0.4%

user penetration, the local internet industry has been preparing to move into the next stage of

its development. Now a day’s mobile internet users are increase day by day. All most all of the

mobile phone operators are provides facilities to use internet.

Objectives

1. To know the internet behavior of the people

2. To know the facilities of the service provider

3. To identify the problem that is cause to decreasing/ may be decreased to customer in

the future.

4. To identify the new opportunity for the service provider

METHODOLOGY

Research design: our research is descriptive research. Our main objectives are to know the

internet behavior, identifying internet facilities problem & to identify new business opportunity.

We use survey method for doing this research. This method we use because it is easier &

suitable for us as if it is our 1st work.

Sample design: Our target populations are people of different institution. We take our sample

as non-probability convenience sampling basis. Only 40 people are included as research sample.

The response rate of us is 97.50%.

Questionnaire design: Our total numbers of questions are 12. From then 11 questions are fixed

alternative & 1 question are open ended.

Data Collection: we take 39 samples. Each sample provides the information about name,

contact number, age & other internet related question. We are finish collect data within

3days.We conduct the face to face interview with the respondent.

Fieldwork: our 5 members of the team work as a fieldworker. We are fully directed by our

course instructor. Our course instructor are verified our work.

Analysis: From the chart it is seen that majority person of internet users 18 – 25 years old. Then 26 – 36 years & 36 - above years.

Analysis: Majority percent of internet user use mobile phone to use internet. which describe that the internet users of the cell phone are increasing day by day.

Analysis: From the chart it is seen that GP covers more percentage of internet users. Then Robi, Banglalion, Qubee etc. From the chart it also be seen that Teletalk covers 0.00%. This is really unexpected, because it’s cost & browsing speed is higher than different operator. Lack of awareness & advertisement will be cause of that.

Analysis: From the calculation it is seen that GP users are satisfied than other operator. But there is dissatisfaction has in different operators. It may be decrease (satisfaction level), if any operator provides more facilities.

Analysis: from the above calculation it is seen that most of the users are want high speed internet facilities & cheap cost pack. now a days internet are use for important pupose. low speed is very disturbing for the people. which may be a big threat of service provider.

Analysis: Most percentage of the user use internet 6 – 12 hrs. per week. But the percentages of more than that are nearer.

Analysis: from the above calculation it is seen that maximum percentage of internet users

are spend more than 400 per month. But 300 – 399 users are not so low. The more

spender of money is desktop user. The small amounts of money spender are on average cell phone user.

Analysis: From the above calculation it is seen that the faces problem of internet are mostly nearer. Internet service provider should notice to solve the problem & improve the services.

Analysis: From the tabulated chart it is seen that interest & very interested rate is so high to switch the brand. It is not good news for service providers in hardly competitive market.

Analysis: most of the internet device users are desktop. Cell phone internet users are increasing day by day. The amount of cell phone & desktop users are almost nearer. Laptop users are not so high. Because it is not available.

RECOMMENDATIONS

1. From the findings it is seen that most of the internet users are 18 – 25 years old.

They can be a customer of target market for service provider.

2. The cell phone users are not so small. It is great news for cell phone operator. They

can design various packages to attract customers.

3. From the analysis it is seen that satisfaction level is not good enough of any

operator. This is a big threat for service provider. In the competitive business world

it is so important to keep up the loyal customer & attract new customer. They should

give attention for that.

4. Internet users face many difficulties when use internet. That is very disturbing for

the users. People want high speed & cheap cost facilities from service providers. It is

a basic wants from service providers. Service providers should notice to that.

5. From the survey it is found that most of the people are interested to use new &

improved modem. It is both good & bad news for service provider. If existing

company are not improve their service they lost their customer & if new company

bring improved modem they have opportunity to cover market.

CONCLUSION

Internet is now worldwide computer networking system. In every purpose anyone can use

internet system. In Bangladesh internet uses & users are increasing recently. Internet system

now is on hand of the people. It`s uses increases for use of cell phone. By solving common

problem service providers can improve their service. There are many service providers in the

market. So the business is on customer oriented. Business is fully depending on the choice of

customer. This service provider can domain the market that can more satisfy to the customer.

At last it is called that internet service create our life easier & faster. It will be easier when the

internet facilities will be upgraded.
