A STUDY ON MALAYSIAN PATRIOTISM
Malaysia 3 August - 8 August 2016
OBJECTIVE OF SURVEY
Measuring the people’s confidence level in facing challenges in the future.
Assessing the level of pride of being Malaysians at this time.
Determine how people will plan their next 6 months.
Examine the people’s concern in addressing national challenges in the future.
SPSurvey Population (N) Consisting of Malaysians in all states.
SDSurvey Duration 3 August to 8 August 2016
SFSample Frame Malaysians residing in (222 Parliament areas in all states including Sabah and Sarawak. Respondent selection is proportionate according to residents within each Parliament area.
METHODOLOGY
SAMPLING METHOD Stratifies sampling method according to ethnicity, gender, age
and location.
DATA ACQUISITION METHOD Telephone Interview (CATI)
SURVEY METHODS
SSSurvey Sample (n) 1000 people were involved n this study.

CONCLUSIONA Study on Malaysian Patriotism N = 1,000 3 August – 8 August 2016
1. In general, most Malaysian are proud to be a Malaysian (95.3%).
2. 77.2% of Malaysian still remember who the first Prime Minister is while 22.8% have forgotten.
3. (84.3%) of Malaysia are still aware of the year Malaysia achieved Independence.
4. Study shows that more than half of Malaysians (66.8%) are confident in facing future challenges in Malaysia and 33.2% have decided otherwise.
5. With 82% response from Malaysians, it is apparent that Malaysians are concerned with the economic situation in Malaysia.
6. 73% of Malaysia have expressed concerns with regards to the future employment availability.
7. This is compounded with (72.6%) Malaysians saying that they are worried with potential threats to the country while 27.2% are confident of the safety of country.
8. The study reveals that within six (6) months time, Malaysians are planning to
1. Travel abroad (29%)
2. Start / Extend a family (24%)
3. Purchase new house (19%)
4. Purchase new car (17%)
5. Switch Profession (14%).
