Capital's listeners are huge fans of the world of popular music entertainment. They are media savvy, on trend and use Capital to be the first of their mates 'in the know' on the very latest glamour, glitz and gossip.It's no coincidence that 60% of those who tune in to Capital are aged between 15-34 and make up the main target audience for the station.

BBC radio 1

The remit of Radio 1 is to entertain and engage a broad range of young listeners with a distinctive mix of contemporary music and speech. It should reflect the lives and interests of 15–29 year olds but also embrace others who share similar tastes.

BBC radio 2An average weekly audience of about 15.44 million tuned into Radio 2 while Radio 4's audience rose to 10.97 million a week.

Chris Evans' Radio 2 breakfast show saw its average weekly reach fall slightly from 9.8 million to 9.75 million.

Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw, who replaced Chris Moyles, saw his average breakfast audience climb to 5.88 million.

The figures are up from 5.78 million in the first quarter of 2013, which represented a drop of almost a million following Moyles' departure.

At the time, Radio 1 said Grimshaw's move to breakfast was part of a strategy to lower the average age of its audience to the station's target - the 15 to 24 age group.

Heart

Heart listeners have a spark about them; the majority of listeners are female (58%) but both men and women who love Heart and are used to juggling their busy lives.Overall, they are very social people who enjoy shopping, going out and spending time with their friends and family.

Heart's core audience is aged between 25-44. In fact, 43% of listeners can be found within this age range.They're also a pretty loyal bunch, who each tune in on average for 7.4 hours each and every week!

ClassicClassic FM’s audience is predominantly made up of 2 main target groups, which make up 90% of our audience.Firstly the ‘discoverers’ who are generally aged between 35 and 50, who often have kids at home, and who tune in primarily to listen to music. And secondly the ‘enthusiasts’ who are generally aged 50+, upmarket and career-focused, and who tune in for inspiration. 44% male 56%female69% of Classic FM's audience are ABC1, most are interested in the arts and finer things in life, constantly seeking out aspirational lifestyles, new experiences and ethical choices.Fact: more people listen to classical music every week on Classic FM than through any other broadcast medium in the UK.

Smooth

The station is currently an easy listening station targeting a London audience aged over 50 plus. It is currently required to broadcast 45 hours per week of specialist jazz programming. The target demographic would remain the same aged 50-plus with lifestyle oriented speech.

Facebook

A study done by Pingdom in 2012 showed that 65 percent of users on Facebook are 35 or older. The average age is just over 40 with the largest group aged 45 to 54. A comparison with Pingdom's previous study, done in 2010, showed that the average age of the Facebook user increased by two years. Only 14 percent of Facebook users are under the age of 24.

Youtube

If you go by much of the media coverage of Google's new acquisition, you might think that the average visitor is 17 years old and gravitates toward videos of nerds dancing. However, even though the typical image of the YouTube audience pictures teens or slightly older people, the demographic data contradict that stereotype.

Nielsen//NetRatings says that nearly 55 percent of YouTube's U.S. visitors in May 2006 were ages 35 to 64, with an additional 19 percent in the 25- to-34 bracket.

Watches a lot of sports, or tv/movies, very social, spends time with friends, does a lot of different things all the time, a person who is always on their phone, and talks to a lot of people. Basically, anybody who does interesting things that other people should know about

Geographics: suburbs because there are a lot of people around, they have lots of friends, and los of things to do.
