APPLICATION OF PLANT PROTECTION

MEANS

• Annual volumes of application of plant protection

means is more than 13 thousand tons, out of

which more than 6.0 thousand tons – of Belarusian

production

• Production of domestic plant protection means is

carried out at four enterprises of Republic of

Belarus

In the Republic of Belarus there is a problem of

pests control on «minor uses»

Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of

Belarus approved the List of “ minor uses”

List of “ minor uses”

1. Melons: water-melons, melon, vegetable marrow, squash, pumpkin

2. Cereals: millet, sorghum, payziev, siberian millet.

3. Medicinal and aromatic plants

4. Vegetable plants: eggplant, beans, swede, vegetable peas, daikon, cabbage

(savoy, cauliflower, broccoli, red, napa, cauliflower, Brussels sprouts), spiny

dogfish, sweet corn, onions (Slizunov, Bunching, leeks, chives), garlic, parsnips,

peppers, parsley, radish, black radish, turnip, lettuce, celery, asparagus, kidney

beans, spinach, sorrel.

5. Fruit and berry plants: apricot, Actinidia, chokeberry Aronia, barberry, hawthorn,

cranberries, black elderberry, grape, cherry, blueberry, pear, honeysuckle, wild

strawberry, blackberry, garden guilder rose, dogwood, cranberry, gooseberry,

loch polyanthous, raspberry, sea buckthorn , rowan garden, plum, currants, black

cherry, chaenomeles, rosehips.

6. Flowers and other plants for decorative purposes.

7. Other plants: Galega orientalis, melilot, oil seed flax, olive, Deervetches horned,

walnuts, soybeans, tobacco, Jerusalem artichokes, hops, horseradish

However, for some plants, cultivated in the Republic,

plant protection means are virtually absent:

Melons: water-melons, melon, pumpkin

Cereals: sorghum, payziev, siberian millet.

Vegetable plants: eggplant, beans, swede, daikon, spiny

dogfish, sweet corn, onions (Slizunov, Bunching, leeks,

chives), garlic, parsnips, asparagus, spinach, sorrel.

Fruit and berry plants: cranberries, honeysuckle, wild

strawberry, blackberry, garden guilder rose, dogwood,

apricot, Actinidia, barberry, hawthorn, black elderberry,

rosehips, chaenomeles

In recent years much attention is paid to control pests on

“minor uses’. In this case, we are worried by the

following problems which appear during state registration

of plant protection means for these crops:

- range of crop protection means for minor uses is not

wide enough to protect the crops in full;

- in connection with small volumes of plant protection

means for these minor uses applicants (producers) are not

interested to pay registration fee for the extension of

pesticides for these crops and carrying out

administrative procedures connected with registration trials.

To increase the assortment of plant protection means

for these crops there are some favourable terms:

-payment for the state registration certificate is not

charged for pesticides extension for minor uses;

-registration trials, including toxicological-hygienic

expertize, are carried out also at the expense

of interested state organizations.

The above mentioned favourable procedures are

based on:

- “Instruction on order of carrying out trials of plant

protection means and fertilizers, which are subjected to

state registration” of 21.12.2013 №77

- point 7.14 of single list of administrative

procedures conducted by state authorities and other

organizations in respect of legal entities and individual

entrepreneurs, approved by the Council of Ministers of

the Republic of Belarus of 29.03.2013 № 234.
