1. One must be a citizen of the Philippines on December eight, nineteen hundred forty-one,2. There must be loss of Philippine citizenship,3. There is loss by reason of the loss is:

a. rendering service to, orb. accepting commission in, the armed forces of an

allied foreign country, and taking an oath of allegiance incident thereto,4. He or she must take an oath of allegiance to the Republic of the Philippines5. Register the same with the Local Civil Registry in the place where he resides or last resided in the Philippines within one year from the date of the approval of this Act (June 20, 1953); and6. The said oath of allegiance shall contain, in addition, a renunciation of any other citizenship

1. Any Filipino veteran of World War II;2. who acquired American citizenship;3. pursuant to the United States Immigration Act of 1990

1. Filipino veterans,2. their spouses and3. their legitimate, natural, recognized illegitimate, and unmarried childrenwho are American citizens and residing in foreign lands.

Those who did not leave the Philippines and acquired American citizenship in the United States Embassy may likewise apply for permanent resident status with the Bureau of Immigration and Deportation.

Filipino veterans and their family members, upon filing their application for permanent residence, shall:

1. present their American passports and2. their birth or baptismal certificates, or any other documents that will prove that they were former Filipino citizensAll other requirements are waived.

Q. WHO IS A BALIKBAYAN?A. A balikbayan is:

1. a Filipino citizen who has been continuously out of the Philippines for a period of at least one (1) year,

2. a Filipino overseas worker

3. visa free entry to the Philippines for one (1) year

2. made within 48 hours from arrival;

derive, obtain, receive or enjoy the benefits and privileges under this Act without being entitled thereto.

1. Fine of not less than Twenty thousand pesos (P20,000.00) but not more than Forty thousand pesos (P40,000.00) or

2. Imprisonment of not less than two (2) years or more than four (4) years, or
