Representations in films

The first time we are introduced to Ferris we see that he is a teenage boy aged around 15-18 years old. Straight away we see him through an extreme close up where he is portrayed as weak and vulnerable. This leaves the audience to feel empathy for him as he lies there in his weak state. As he lies there we listen to a conversation between his parents who comment upon his ill state. As we continue to listen to the diegetic conversation where they continue to show concern from Ferris, we hear them talk about what symptoms he is showing and how he won't be able to attend school in his state. The dialog between the parents show sympathy for Ferris which suggest that they are caring parents that are trying to support him. The social group represented in this scene is teenagers of a weak nature.
