It connotes she’s comfortable being alone in the atmosphere she’s in. In contrast with the fact that dark and dull colours create an intimidating and ghastly feel and a sense of danger. The lighting is reasonably bright and natural. This suggests the atmosphere is calm and Jennifer is away from any harm. As a result of the background being green and simple, also creates a calm and fresh atmosphere. However, the arrows on her back suggest she may be worried and decide to use them as an act of self-defence against any threats or people she may come in contact with. The use of weapons breaks the stereotype of woman being weak and unable to handle tough situations. This scene clearly shows that not all women are weak, due to Jennifer being shown quite strong and brave. The actor also shows bravery through the injuries on her chest, due to the fact that she’s still fighting for herself after being harmed. The blood also shows the connotation of a daring character.

This expression suggests that she is focused and is trying to keep herself out of any damage that could occur. She also seems quite calm. This connotes that Jennifer is trying to only focus on what is happening now onwards, blocking out whatever fright happened in the past. However, she also comes across as quite worried. This indicates that something drastic has occurred for Jennifer to show her distress through her facial expression.

The fact that the background is deliberately blurred out, suggests that Jennifer should be the main focus and that she is more superior in the film or in this environmental location then others. As we are aware, nothing is going on in this location. This indicates that this character has managed to escape from any risks or danger. It also suggests that Jennifer enjoys being alone and doesn’t need a partner to rely on or make her happy/feel protected in an open place, despite her not knowing who could be behind her or what is about to arise.
