Mississippi

Storms and floods due to a warming planet may have casinos in the Mississippi Delta rolling snake eyes. Casinos in Mississippi must operate on barges or near the high water line. Extreme weather has forced the closure of these casinos. And a shuttered casino generates no revenue.

South Dakota

Reservations such as Pine Ridge and Rosebud have embraced wind energy, and 90.1 KILI FM, “The Voice of the Lakota Nation” is now powered entirely through the Pine Ridge turbine.
