• Broodfish farm.• 530.000 Atlantic Salmon distributed in
seven net pens. • Average weight; 4,3 kg.• 0,18 % mortality in January (943 fish)• No other sites within a distance of 5 km. • The fish originated from a Category 1
area.
Measures
• The outbreak is handled in accordance with the requirements of Directive 2006/88 implemented by The Norwegian Contingency plan approved by the EFTA Surveillance Authority 05. July 2012.

Suspicion of diseases in one of the net pens with the following symptoms; severe haemorrhages increased appetite and chronic circulation failure.
The fish health service suspected cardiomyopathy syndrome (CMS)/heart and skeletal muscle inflammation (HSMI)
• NVI confirms that the samples are positiv for ISA. 4 out of 5 fish positive by Immunohistochemistry (IHC) according to the OIE Manual.
• The Norwegian Food Safety (NFSA) is immediately notified about the diagnosis from the NVI and the fish health service.
Samples sent to the National Veterinary Institute (NVI).
• Restrictions on the farm; No fish are allowed to enter or leave the farm.

The NFSA visits the farm and initiates epizootic investigations according to Article 28 of Directive 2006/88. Additional samples are collected for analyses at the NVI.
The NFSA visits the farm evaluate whether the criteria for conformation of diagnosis are met and to collect additional samples. The NFSA receives a plan for removal of fish from the farm (destruction of fish from the affected pen and slaughter of the rest). The farm must be emptied within 7 March.

suspended. • Outbreak notified to the EU and the OIE.
The NFSA adopts the regulations on the containment area.
