Work Performed
1) Skead Township
Bulldozer stripping was carried out on a location
where sulphides in rhyolite were found near an old prospect
shaft after a geological survey. The area outlined in the orig
inal OPAP application, 2 claims to the south could not be reached
because old bridges on a logging road had been washed out.
The area stripped showed altered rhyolites with sulphide-mud
clasts. Base metal and gold assays appear low. The area was
not washed or completely mapped which is planned for next year.

2) Skead - Hearst Townsliip
A small geological survey was performed over 4 claims
which also showed the difficulty of access to one of the proposed
locations. Stripping by bulldozer was carried out over two
areas, one of which was previously proposed and the second had
been located by prospecting -- not elaimedjas expenditures are
over tlie necessary amount. Both areas stripped showed green
carbonate alteration with traces of pyrite in silicified rocks.
Low gold values were indicated. Washing and further sampling
should be carried out next year.

ONTARIO
Samples were taken from a number of locations in Skead
and Hearst Townships following bulldozer stripping operations,
in connection with geological surveys and assay of drill core
from a hole drilled in January of 1990. Sample locations are
indicated on the enclosed plans.
Certificates of analysis and receipts are also enclosed,

GEOLOGICAL SURVEY
HEARST AND SKEAD TOWNSHIPS
ONTARIO
BY
R.A. MACGREGOR, P. ENG,
OCTOBER 26, 1990
COLEX EXPLORATIONS INC.PAGE NO.
I. INTRODUCTION
A geological survey was carried out on four claims
along the Hearst-Catharine boundary during 1990.
li. LOCATION, ACCESS AND OWNERSHIP
The property is located in the south west part of Hearst
Township and the NE^ of the N'f lot 2, NWij of the N^ lot 3
Concession 6 in Skead Township, Larder Lake Mining Division,
District of Temiskaming, Ontario. The claims are numbered L980392
and L1049052 to 1049054 inclusive. They are recorded in the
name of K. MacGregor, 28 Ford Street, Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
Access to the property is by logging roads from Highway
624 about 4 miles south of Larder Lake, Ontario.
III. PREVIOUS EXPLORATION
An airborne survey has been flown over the most north
easterly claim in the group. The property has been explored
in the past by pits and trenches along the township line. Some
records exist which indicate interesting assays from this work.
IV. TOPOGRAPHY
The area around Benson Creek is low and swampy with
beaver ponds. Outcrop arcus rise as low hills out of the sur
rounding swamp and low ground. Outcrop is mostly on the two
claims in Hearst and along the boundary.
VI. SURVEY PROCEDURE
The township line and the boundaries of the two surveyed
claims in Hearst Township were cut out and chained. These were
then used as baselines for traversing the internal part of the
claim by pace and compass. Rock outcrops and rock types were
noted. Some samples were taken for future analysis.
COL.EX EXPLORATIONS INC. PAGE NO
VII. GEOLOGY
The property is underlain by a volcanic-sedimentary
sequence of rocks of the Larder Lake Group. Ultramafic to mafic
volcanics underlie the claims in Skead Township. In Hearst,
the rocks are highly carbonated and in many cases original
structure or origin is obscure. The carbonated rocks may have
originally been volcanoclastic conglomerates or sediments, part
of the sequence which outcrops -further to the north. They may
have been carbonated from excess C02 from the ultramafic flows
and intrusions to the south. Syenite dykes and bodies intrude
the sequence. The ultramafics in the south part of the claims
are highly serpentinized and carbonated with narrow dolomite
and magnesite veining.
The carbonated rocks along the township boundary are
cut by numerous narrow quartz veins and pyritized in places.
Gold values appear to follow the pyrite mineralization, but is
not always indicitive of it. There may be more than one age
of pyritization.
VIII. DISCUSSION OF RESULTS
The claims are underlain by a variety of carbonated
rocks, which carry anomalous to sometime ore grade assays.
The property warrants further work to assess the gold
potential. An I.P. survey might be useful in outlining the
pyritized areas.
Respectfully submitted
October 26, 1990 R. A. MacGregor, P. Eng.
