Report for the period from 29 June, 2018 to 23 August, 2018

1. Examinations – Internal:- i) The third monthly test for the boys of V to X was held from 16.08.2018 to

18.08.2018.

External:- i) The South Asian Mathematics Olympiad (SEAMO) 2018 was held on 29th July,

2018. Selected students from V to XII participated in this examination.

ii) A.I.M.T (Association Improvement Mathematics Teaching) for the boys of X and XII was held on 5th August, 2018. Selected boys from our Vidyalaya appeared in this examination.

iii) The IAPT-MTA-PRMO 2018 Examination – organised by Mathematics Teachers’ Association was held on Sunday 19th August, 2018 for VIII to XI. Selected students participated in that examination.

2. Cultural Competition and Programme –

i) The Inter –School Essay writing competition was held on 7th July, 2018.

ii) In the Junior Section, Hindi / Sanskrit Recitation competition was held on 21 July, 2018. Result: Hindi – 1st – Suryansh - VII-A 2nd – Pathikrit Patra – VII-A 3rd – Rounak Mukherjee – V-A Sanskrit - 1st - Subhayu Panja - VI-C 2nd - Arkadyuti Dhar - V-A

iii) Class wise Shruti Nataka was held on 21.07.2018 at Senior Section Assembly Hall. All enjoyed the programme.

iv) On the occasion of ‘Guru Purnima’ the Geeti Alekhya named ‘Guru’ – performed by our boys was broadcasted by All India Radio on 27th July 2018.

v) On Independence Day, the Geeti Alekhya named ‘Agniyuger Agnikanyara’ – performed by our students was broadcasted by All India Radio.

vi) Inter Bhavan Debate Competition was organised on 28th July, 2018.

vii) Extempore competition – 2018 (H.S. Section) was held on Sunday, 12.08.2018 Result:

3. Celebration –

i) The Rathayatra was celebrated on 14th July, 2018. The school was closed on that day. The boys of the junior section pulled the well-decorated Rath in Ashrama campus and all enjoyed.

ii) The 72 Independence Day was celebrated on the 15th August, 2018. The chief – guest was Shri Jawhar Sircar, I.A.S.

former CEO, Prasar Bharati. The programme included Flag Hoisting, National Anthem, March-past by cadets, speech, song etc.

4. Seminar and Lectures – i) All the guardians of X and XI attended

the Seminar Lecture by Prof. Soumyendu Dutta, MCOM, LLB, FCA, ACS, on alumnus of our Vidyalaya on 08.07.2018 at our College Hall on the topic “Career options cum Overview and some basic personal traits of an individual to pursue only career path.”

ii) Fortis Hospital and Kidney Institute organised a training programme of Basic life support at our Vidyalaya on 21.07.2018 at Senior Section Assembly Hall. All the students of class XI attended the training programme.

iii) Students of IX and X attended “National Level Science, Technology, Culture and Education Exhibition and Seminar” also known as 6th Indian National Exhibition Cum Fair 2018 on Saturday, 28.07.2018 at Bengal Human Resource Development Foundation at KMDA, Ground Patuli.

iv) On the occasion of 125th Birth Anniversary of Acharya Satyendranath Bose, Bangiya Bijnan Parishad arranged a Seminar Lecture in our Vidyalaya. Prof. (Dr.) Goutam Ganguly, an alumnus of our Vidyalaya

(1983) of Development of Physics, University of Calcutta delivered the seminar lecture on “Satyen Bose: Life and works” on Saturday, 28th July, 2018 at Room no 46. Students of XI & XII attended the lecture.

v) On 01.08.2018 oral Hygienic Day was

observed in our Vidyalaya Senior Section Assembly Hall by IDA, West Bengal.

Students from VIII to X attended the function. vi) Dr. Madhab Roy, clinical Assistant Professor, Tufts University, USA and an

alumnus of 1983 Madhyamik batch of our Vidyalaya delivered a lecture on ‘Cardio-Vascular – Disease’s on 05.08.2018 at the Senior Section Assembly

Hall before the students of VIII to X. vii) On 11.08.2018, Sri Anindya Kar, retired

deputy General Manager of ONGC Ltd, a noted Notaphilist interacted with the students of VIII and IX at Senior section Assembly Hall.

viii) Dr. Swapan Bhattacharyya, Former Head, Department of Micro Biology, Maulana Azad College, Kolkata, an alumnus of our Vidyalaya delivered a popular talk on “The wonderful world of Microbes – Development and opportunities” on Sunday, 19th August, 2018. The students of XI & XII attended the talk.

5. Parent’ Teacher’ Meeting –

On 04.08.2018 and 11.08.2018 – Parent’ Teacher’ Meetings were held in Senior and Junior section respectively. Parents met the teachers and discussed about the academic progress of their wards and after Meetings, teachers and guardians par take lunch-prasad at Bhavanas.

6. Students’ Achievement –

i) Some students of our Vidyalaya, participated in EUPHORIA, 2018 organised by B.D.M. International School on 9th and 10th August 2018. They won prizes in several

categories.

ii) Some selected students of our

Vidyalaya participated in Quiz, Essay-writing, Extempore competition – 2018 on the occasion of S.N. Bose’s 125th Birth Anniversary organised by Bangiya Bigyan Parishad. They received certificates of appreciation.

7. Games and Sports –

i) An Exhibition football match was played between Mohan Bagan under 15 and East Bengal under 15 on 14.07.2018 at Ashrama stadium and the match was ended in a draw.

ii) Arun Das Memorial Inter-School Football Tournament as a part of our Diamond Jubilee Celebration was held from 06.07.2018 to 29.07.2018. It was sponsored by 1984 batch students. 16 schools participated in this tournament. In the inaugural function, the guests were two footballers, Mr. Mehtab Hossain and Mr. Pratap Ghosh.

In the final, Chowbaga High School defeated Tirthapati Institution. After the final match, the prize distribution ceremony was held. Mr. Arup Biswas, sports-minister, W.B., Mrs. Firdausi Begum, MLA and footballer Arnab Mondal were present as guests.

iii) The Inter-class Football Tournament of H.S. Section of our Vidyalaya was held on 13.08.2018 and 16.08.2018 respectively. Result: - First match was ended in a 1 – 1 draw and in the Second Match class XII won by 3 – 0 margin.

iv) A friendly football match was played between our Vidyalaya team

and Ramchandrapur Ekta Sangha and our Vidyalaya team was defeated by 3 – 1 margin.

v) Inter class and Intra class league cum knockout Football tournament in senior section (VIII to X) and Rathayatra Football Tournament in Junior section have started. All are enjoying the matches. The finals are yet to be played.
