REPORT AND ACTIVITIES FOR 2010

During the period for 2010 Hamnasheen has carried out various training programs, events and hascreated an environment of excitements and motivation among the special people who are being trainedand being provided with employment through Hamnasheen at the Green Fingers Nursery; theassociation is always involved in various activities for the special people in order to bring happinessand prosperity in the lives of the special people who are associated with Hamnasheen.

It has been an encouraging year for Hamnasheen and its employees (the special people) where newpeople have been employed and achievements have been appreciated.

1. New Special people have been employed.2. Training in Horticulture and developing the physical and mentally challenged people fine and

gross motive skills.3. Awareness programs carried out at schools.4. Celebration of the special day for the special people.5. Entertainment program for the special people.

EMPLOYMENT :

Hamnasheen during the year 2010 has provided additional training and employment to Six (06) morespecial people at the Green Finger Botanical Garden Nursery where these people are being trained inthe art of Horticulture, and working in an environment close to nature.

TRAINING & DRILLS:

HWA is providing training to the Special people in order to develop their fine andgross motive skill including their eye and hand coordination and body balanceand to provide them with the necessary drills and exercises to keep them

physically fit. There has been marked improvement in their development and out of which we have now

employed four of the special people of KVTC who are now working at the Green Fingers BotanicalGarden Nursery.

AWARENESS PROGRAM:

HWA had arranged various awareness programs at the schools were these specialpeople received a warm welcome by the students and teachers. This is to bring

awareness among the coming generation that these special people are a part of society and have andequal right to live like normal as us.

The student of Lycum had organized a stage show on 08 th August 2010 for Hamnasheen in order toraise funds in support for the special people and the outstanding work that is being done byHamnasheen for these Special People.

CELEBRATION OF EARTH & WHITE CANE DAY:

Hamnashen organized a program for Earth Day on 13 th April 2010 and WhiteCane Day on 15 th October 2010 where all the special people and their parentswere invited to celebrate this special occasion. The program started by reciting of

the Holy Quran by one of the special people who is employed with Hamnasheen Earth Day Mr. Khalid

Chachar Provincial Coordinator Social Welfare Dept Sindh was the Chief Guest, Ms. Hajab Manzer Deputy Director Social Dept. Sindh, Dr. Iqbal Saeed Khan Resource Person & Ms. Rehana Saif theExecutive District Officer Community Development Department, City District Government, Karachi.

They all delivered their speech on the Environment and what must we all do to protect theEnvironment, an encouragement to the special people towards there contribution to the Environment.The President, General Secretary and Joint Secretary also delivered their speech on the Environmentand how these special people are contributing to the environment by growing plants to clean up theatmosphere and to make a greener Pakistan and this world. WHITE CANE DAY CELEBERATION

The while cane day opening speech was made by the president of Hamnasheen where he explainedhow this day came into existence and what was the importance of this day. The Chief Guest on thisoccasion was Mr. Mukthar Hussain Sahab Administrator Local Government Saddar Town and thespecial guest were Mr. Najam Sahab Ch Eng Water and Sewage Board, Miss. Shekila Yasmeen Vice

Chair Person Pakistan Disable Foundation, Mrs. Zubida Tariq. Certificate of Achievement was alsodistributed to some of the special people employed by Hamnasheen for their outstanding performanceand improvement during their period with Hamnasheen.

HWA has organized Iftahar party, distributed Eid Gifts in 2010 for the specialpeople create a worm feeling among them that they are a part of us and thelove we have for them. Mrs. Shaista also attended the occasion. Mr. Bashir the special persons Birthday was celebrated at Green Fingers Botanical

GET TOGETHER AT SHERATON HOTEL SUMMER CAMP (2010):

The special people of Hamnasheen Welfare Association was invited by SheratonHotel Karachi during the summer camp and they were able to demonstrate their skills in the field of horticulture and also prepared, potted and laid plants at thevarious locations of the hotel nursery and garden area.

FLOOD RELIEF CAMP SET UP AT CLIFTON:-

The flood relief camp was set up by Hamnasheen and the special peopleemployed with HWA to collect funds for the flood effected people of Pakistan. Itwas a great effort put in by the special people where they able to collect, food

If was indeed a pleasure having Mr. Nisar Khoro to visit the special people of Hamnasheen Welfare Association at the Green Fingers Botanical GardenNursery, to see their skills in the field of Horticulture and how they have

developed themselves in this art by which they have become an earning member of their family and are

able to live independently.

On Behalf of Hamnasheen we thank Mr. Khoro for his visit and who has been a real inspiration for thespecial people, we look forward to his support in this nobles cause.

INTERVIEW AND MEETING WITH THE MEDIA

Various media visited the HWA special people at the Green Fingers Nursery to see how theywork and what sort of life they are living after becoming and employee for HWA.

Hamnasheen Welfare Association and its members are always trying to ensure that these specialpeople live a normal life, be a part of society, earn a reasonable living to support their family and beindependent.

HWA has many aims and objectives that it would like to progress with and therefore all the support andcontribution that HWA can get for these special people will help in providing vocational training in thevarious field and skills that these special people have so they can earn and live an independent life andenjoy the facility of a normal person. A recreational area with special club facilities for them to interact,relax and enjoy their life.

HWA is working towards it and we hope that the future bring progress and success to the associationwhich will always be for these special people as an open book.
