Notes from George

Since April is in a sense a “fool’s “ month, I thought I would have some fun and share with you all (or those who actually read this commentary; and if you do and see this send me an email to let me know you did), a list of some of my favorite “Oxy Morons”. Now hopefully we all know what an “Oxy Moron” is, but for those who still may have some confusion here it is. An “Oxy Moron” comment is a figure of speech which juxtaposes elements that appear to be contradictory. As you peruse the list below, I think you will get what that means.

Okay let us start the list:Jumbo ShrimpRap MusicFound MissingAdvanced BasicGenuine imitationAirline FoodGood griefSame DifferenceAlmost ExactlyAlone togetherLegally drunkSilent screamLiving DeadSmall crowdTaped LoveExact estimateWorking vacationPlastic glasses Definite maybeAct naturallyGreat DepressionClearly confusedPretty Ugly

If you are a new member, or haven’t yet provided us your birth month,

please email info to: [email protected] that we can celebrate your birthday

by listing it in future issues of the Color Wheel.

Thank you.

Happy April Birthday to:

Naomi Mankowitz

Does anyone want to continue the conversation started by George’s excellent and heartfelt article for the next issue of Color Wheel? We are always looking for your thoughts, experiences, advice, etc. Please email to [email protected] with your comments.

These are but a few of those ever present comments we all have heard and very likely used ourselves. If any who reads this commentary has additional ones, please, oh please, email them to me at [email protected] so we can compile an even bigger list.

I hope you have had a bit of fun with this; please let me know what you think.

George V. Novello

Please bring or send your

Year End - Awards Dinner checks ASAP.

Please be considerate of the

arrangements that need to be made.

As in a mirror, the responsive observer will discover not only the artist’s reflection in his work, but his own image as well. In this way we share our findings with each other, communicate and fill a deep human need.
